Conference Overview

This one-and-a-half day conference is designed specifically for the practicing otolaryngologist. Our goal is to provide health care practitioners with a comprehensive update on otolaryngology with a specific focus on otology, head and neck surgery and pediatric otolaryngology.

Target Audience & ObjectivesThis course is designed to present health care practitioners with current information on the diagnosis and management of selected diseases commonly seen by otolaryngologists-head and neck surgeons.

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

1. Discuss the common reasons for failure of tympanoplasty surgery.

2. Critically assess their surgical technique in order to improve outcomes.

3. Identify the basic principles of value-based health care.

4. Recognize the risk factors for professional burnout in academic medicine.

5. Summarize the Pediatric HGN study, its current outcomes, and the status of the study.

6. Outline the role of vocal injections, thyroplasty, and nerve reinervation in children with UVFI.
