INTRODUCTION :

Welcome to MKB IX . This is the ninth year that Annie and the Magic Genie have bestowed potential

Kentucky Derby hopefuls to our friends at Dan’s Formblog.

The only rule of the game is "No complaining about your horse, his trainer, or the venue at which he

runs". For better or worse, he's your boy, so root for him and he will try the best he can.

BTW, as you will be competing against the other Formbloggers you are entitled to bragging rights when

your horse beats some of the others :) Have FUN ! Good LUCK !

If it turns out that your horse has not been nominated to the Triple Crown you will be eligible for

another horse in the March Draw, around mid-March.

Also, if your horse becomes injured or is officially withdrawn from Derby consideration you will be

eligible for the second draw.

And, of course, if he has simply disappeared and does not show up to continue his career you will get a

replacement horse. This has happened. Although, you will have to be patient, as some will not come

back to race until February or even March.

Racehorse owners must learn to be patient, especially with the better horses, as they do not race every

week or so like the claiming horses often do.

Well, you had NYQUIST last year and started out with a champion, but this year you get to start from

square one as your boy has not yet started in a race. However he has been working steadily with several

works in Oct. and Nov. at LA, and two works this month at SA, with the last one on 12/10. Looks like he

will be ready to start soon. Maybe when SA starts up again after Christmas. Good luck with your horse!!

his 625K reserve at the KEESEPT15 yearling sale and his 700K reserve at EASMAY 2-year-old sale.

He has made 3 starts, with 1 win and 1 second, and has earned $87,600.

He is a chestnut colt by Giant's Causeway out of Ava K. by Dixie Union. He was born on 2/1/14. Your

trainer is Bob Baffert. The Zayats apparently purchased him privately after he failed to meet his 195K

reserve at the SARAUG15 yearling sale. He has only had 1 start, but it was a winning one.

He apparently is taking off some time to grow and mature. However, you know that if he is not

nominated to the Triple Crown or does not return to the races, you will be eligible for another horse in

MY horse is DABSTER.

He is a chestnut colt by Curlin out of On A Roll by A.P. Indy. He was born 3/26/14. My trainer is Bob

Baffert. He sold at the FTFMAR16 2-year-old sale for ONE MILLION DOLLARS, after selling for 430K at

KEESEPT15 yearling sale. Must have looked even better at two. :)

Well, I get another million dollar horse. Hope he does better than the last one I had. What was his

name? Anyway, my boy hasn't started yet, but he's been working steadily at Santa Anita since Oct., with

his last one on 12/10, and I'm sure Bob will get him in a race THIS year so he won't have to carry the

Apollo Curse. :) Hey, maybe he will be in a Pick 5 race at SA. I could probably single him, don't you think?

The draw is nigh,

You may hear a neigh

The horses are ready

And anxious to see,

Owner will be.

They all have vowed

But the competition will put

To make it to the gate

For the Derby call.

Cheer them on and

Watch them run.

Root for them

And have some fun.
