• They are based in Hamburg, Germany.
• 38 million magazines worldwide per week.
• Founded in 1875• Current employees stand at 6400.
FACTS
TITLES• Bauer have many titles ranging from
many different genres from men and women’s lifestyles to gardening.
• Their most recognised brands are Heat, Empire, FHM and Kerrang.
TARGET AUDIENCE• Due to Bauer’s wide range of magazine genres,
they are bound to have different audiences.• One example is the football magazine “Match.”
This is aimed at teenagers because of the colour.• Then they have “GardenNews,” a magazine
aimed at people in their late sixties.
PRIORITIES• According to Bauer’s mission
statement their priorities are to ‘connect audiences with excellent content through our broad multi-touchpoint brand platforms.
• They also aim to grow as a company and relentlessly seek out new ideas and develop existing products.
MERGERS• Bauer Media has told its staff it plans
to merge its teams on magazines Cleo and Dolly which means that both of the titles’ editors Sharri Markson and Tiffany Dunk will be asked to compete for the single editor-in-chief position.
• Bauer has said it will bring these teams together to form a ‘young women’s lifestyles’ division.

over the world such as: Germany, USA, Spain, Russia, UK, Australia, France, China, Nigeria, Czech Republic, Mexico, Portugal, Romania, Poland, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary.
