Slate has been a common material used in the built environment for centuries. Its

natural beauty is unmatched, its uses are diverse, and its material qualities stand

the test of time. However, a common disadvantage of using stone is that it is generally

hard to work with due to its weight and machining tools required. TerraThin solves these problems

and has allowed the usage of slate to evolve into an

incomparable wall covering, fixture wrapping,

dramatic light creating, architectural veneer.

Slate is pulled from the quarry, split into slabs,

fiberglass resin is applied to the surface, and a thin

layer is peeled away.

This thin layer can be finished with a variety of

backing materials that allow for flexibility,

transparency, and panelization.

The polyester and fiberglass layer allows for an opaque backing with moderate flexibility.

Ultra-light weight of less than 0.5 lbs per sq ft and anywhere from 1-2 mm thick.

Waterproof backing and natural slate makes the product ideal for wet or outdoor environments.

TerraThin comes in standard sizes of 12” x 24” and 24” x 48” sheets with 7 standard colors and 15 custom order colors.
