Screw augers are used with rotary hammer drills to penetrate hard soils, asphalt and concrete. They have extra large pilot tips, and include a built-in SDS-Max or splined adapter. Concrete bits are made for fast accurate, drilling with a rotary hammer drill. Concrete and wild bore bits are one-piece bits, while concrete core bits include a core body, SDS-Max or splined adapter, and a starter or pilot bit.

Regular Augers are used in most solid conditions. Mud Augers are designed for moist and sticky soils.
