A note from the Principal

Welcome to the first Clairgate Chronicle for Term 4.

We are looking forward to a fast, busy and productive

term.

Cyber-Safety – Think U Know

Today we held a parent information session on cyber

safety for our students. It is so important for parents to

know what their children are actually doing and seeing

online, and also to have strategies to navigate through

this “cyber” space safely. Last term we held a cyber-

safety session for Years 3 and 4; this Friday we will be

holding a cyber-safety session for Years 5&6.

Kindy Orientation

Next Wednesday, 30th October, we will welcome our

new 2020 Kindergarten students for their first

Transition session. Our Year 5 students will help the

little ones by taking them to the Kindergarten rooms.

The first session will be an information gathering

session for the parents in the hall while the “new”

Kinders will work in the Kindergarten classrooms with

Ms Soo Kee, Mrs Veide, Mrs Millevoi, Mrs Roberts and

Mrs Borel.

Colour Run

It’s that fun time again! For those of you who are not

familiar with this - it is a Fun Run with a difference. As

children run past several “Colour Stations”, they are

doused with powdered colour. At the end of the run

children are absolutely covered with colour. So

exciting! Information should have come home with

your child about sponsor forms etc.

Some Reminders...

Please don’t try to sort out any issues or problems

between children at school. If there is an issue or

problem between students, please let the staff know

and they will sort it out. Children may not be

approached or spoken to at school by anyone other

than staff members or family members. (This relates to

contentious issues, not a friendly hello!) This will ensure

all children feel safe, and that any issues are

investigated and documented properly.

Sport Report

Final Sports Assembly Our annual Final Sports Assembly will be held on

Tuesday 26th November (2pm) in the school hall. The

awards that will be presented on this day include:

Winter PSSA Best & Fairest players, Boys & Girls

Sportsperson Of The Year, Josh Leslie Encouragement

Award as well as The Premiers Sporting Challenge

Medal. Certificates will also be presented to Clairgate

students who were selected in a St Marys District team

this year. All are welcome.

Area Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to Nathan Jenkins (Discus), Jessey

Bektas (1500m) and Abbey Bektas (1500m) who were

selected to represent the St Marys District Team at the

annual Sydney-West (Area) Athletics Carnival which

was held at Blacktown Olympic Sports Park on

Thursday 17th October. What a great effort guys

everyone is extremely proud of you.
