Thanks to staff, parents and students who attended an informative subject selection evening on Wednesday. A reminder that all Year 10 students need to make a booking for a meeting with Mrs Toogood. Instructions for the online booking process were issued to students over a week ago, and interview timeslots are available until this Thursday. A reminder again that this week is Education Week, where schools around the state celebrate and highlight the benefits and achievements of public education. I invite all parents and community members to our Education Week Assembly on Friday. Students will be celebrated for their achievements, and we will have work on display. I look forward to seeing everyone there. This afternoon all staff will complete their second extended professional learning session after school. The focus will be on high expectations. We will be looking at Page 1 how evidence indicates high expectations contributes significantly to improved student outcomes. We will also discuss what a high expectations culture looks like, and support staff in further developing classroom management skills. Next week our annual Mental Health Forum will be supported by the Resilience Project. As well as staff professional learning and assemblies for students, a parent and community evening will be held at Billabong on Monday from 7pm – 8:30pm. All are welcome. Mr K.
