WEEK 3
NAPLAN begins
For Years 3, 5, 7 & 9.
Welcome to the new term.
As always, Literacy and in particular Reading has a strong focus this term. Teachers will be
receiving support from leadership and SSO staff to implement the best possible literacy
programs founded on best practice as recommended by the Department of Education.
We are continuing to work towards our Premier Reading Challenge medals. You can help
by encouraging your child to read at home and add to their list. If you would like your
child to have a PRC reading log at home, please ask your child’s teacher for a copy.
Special events to look out for this term include NAPLAN and National Simultaneous Story
Time.
This year’s Book Week theme is ‘Reading is my secret power’. Book week is held in Week 4
