ANZAC

On Wednesday the school ANZAC Service was held. Thank you to Miss Inglis and her support team for a very touching commemorative service. The service was hosted by the school captains who did a fantastic job.

Don’t forget the community ANZAC Service being held on Thursday 25th April. I look forward to a large contingent of students joining in the march. We will meet in Bourke Street at 9:30am.

Featured ArtistSophie Mackney is very excited to have been offered a Featured Artist role in this year’s CAPERS.

Sophie auditioned last week and I was officially notified of her success on Thursday 11 April.Congratulations Sophie.

School HolidaysAs another busy term draws to an end, I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and dedication to the students of Tamworth South Public School.

Thank you also to the parents and community members, who continually support the staff and our school at every opportunity.

I hope everyone manages to get some rest and enjoy some quality time with their families during the holidays.

Please note that students return back to school on Tuesday 30th April.

ANZAC Day MarchThe ANZAC Day March is held in the school holidays on Thursday 25 April 2019. We encourage as many students as possible to join the school as we march down Peel Street. Students are to wear their full WINTER school uniform, this includes school ties and school jackets for both boys and girls.

We will meet in Bourke Street at 9:30am on Thursday 25 April 2019. Students may be collected at No 1 Oval on the conclusion of the march.

We appreciate your support in showing our respect and showcasing our amazing school spirit.

Protecting Our Children

Schools must be following Department of Education Policies. It must be appreciated that your child's safety is paramount. Every volunteer in the classroom, canteen, office and with sporting teams, must sign a Child Protection declaration form and provide 100-point identification (if you do not provide a WWCC number).

Parents and Carers transporting team members other than their own child will also be expected to provide a copy of their license, comprehensive insurance and car registration. All paperwork can be completed and presented at the front office. Please note that you only need to do this once in the year and it will be kept on file in the front office.

Sports News

Captains CupOn Thursday 4 April girls and boys from Years 3 and 4 travelled to Farrer to play in the Captains Cup Rugby League and League Tag Gala Day.

All students enjoyed themselves and learnt new skills along the way. The teams all showed great sportmanship and should be proud of their efforts.

The Tamworth South boys and girls Touch Knockout team played in the Tamworth Zone Gala Day on Monday 8 April.

The girls team won the Grand Final against Tamworth Public and will progress to the next round of the knockout.

The boys team were defeated in the Grand Final by Westdale, however it was a huge effort to make it that far. I would like to thank both teams for the way they conduct themselves. All players were fantastic representatives for Tamworth South Public School.

Miss Jolliffe

Congratulations
