This is the ninth round of groundwater sampling conducted by consultants since 2002. The continued need for annual groundwater sampling is as required by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VDEC) Site Manager Gerold Noyes as stated in his letter to Graham Goldsmith, Jr. dated June 20, 2014 (via e-mail). 1.0 GROUNDWATER LEVEL MONITORING Groundwater levels were measured from MW-C, MW-6, MW-103 and MW-104 on June 25, 2013. The following wells are believed to be destroyed due to construction activities: MW-A, and MW-B; MW-102 is covered by large concrete blocks and cannot be accessed. Groundwater elevation data are presented on page 1 of the Attachment. A groundwater contour map for the June 25, 2013 data is presented as page 2 of the Attachment. Groundwater levels were the lowest measured to date in most wells. Due to the number of damaged wells, the groundwater contours found on page 2 of the attachment are approximations. Groundwater flow across the site continues to be toward the north/northeast, which is typical for this site. 2.0 GROUNDWATER QUALITY MONITORING Groundwater samples were collected from wells MW-C, MW-6, MW-103 and MW-104 on June 3, 2014. Wells were purged of three volumes of groundwater at non-turbulent rates utilizing a peristaltic pump. After purging, wells were allowed time to recover. Samples were obtained directly from the peristaltic pump outlet into pre-preserved containers and stored on ice. The samples were analyzed for volatile organic compounds via EPA Method 8260C by Endyne Laboratories in Williston, VT. A summary of the groundwater quality data is presented on pages 3-4 of the Attachment. Laboratory analytical reports are included as pages 5-11 of the Attachment.

Enclosed please find the results of the analyses performed for the samples referenced on the attached chain of custody. All required method quality control elements including instrument calibration were performed in accordance with method requirements and determined to be acceptable unless otherwise noted.

The column labeled Lab/Tech in the accompanying report denotes the laboratory facility where the testing was performed and the technician who conducted the assay. A "W" designates the Williston, VT lab under NELAC certification ELAP 11263; "R" designates the Lebanon, NH facility under certification NH 2037 and “N” the Plattsburgh, NY lab under certification ELAP 11892. “Sub” indicates the testing was performed by a subcontracted laboratory. The accreditation status of the subcontracted lab is referenced in the corresponding NELAC and Qual fields.

The NELAC column also denotes the accreditation status of each laboratory for each reported parameter. “A” indicates the referenced laboratory is NELAC accredited for the parameter reported. “N” indicates the laboratory is not accredited. “U” indicates that NELAC does not offer accreditation for that parameter in that specific matrix. Test results denoted with an “A” meet all National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program requirements except where denoted by pertinent data qualifiers. Test results are representative of the samples as they were received at the laboratory
