• His abstract paintings and mixed media works have been exhibited and collected throughout the US and have received many honors and awards
• In 2005 Ted devoted himself almost exclusively to photography
• VanCleave's work was selected by Laura Rosenstock, Curator, The Museum of Modern Art, And to appear in the Faber Birren Color Award Show

photography he has won awards like The Eleventh Annual Faber Birren Color Award Show,National Watercolor Society’s 70th Annual Competition, Abstract Reasoning Art, California Magazine’s Discovery
