• All the activities of maintenance, repair and replacement must be done by qualified personnel only.
• All the replacements must be done using original spare parts.
• To guarantee the efficiency of the product is essential that highly qualified personnel keep the maintenance in times pre-established by the installer, the producer and by the current legislation.
• Every installation, maintenance, repair and cleaning intervention must be recorded. All the records must be preserved by the user and available for authority examination.
RESPONSABILITIES The installer of the machine has some responsibilities which can be synthesized as follow: 1. Doing a complete analysis of the risks in order to plan in the correct way the machine 2. Doing the installation following the assembly instructions given by the producer of each part of the
machine, verifying that every piece has the CE declaration and marks. 3. Doing a final test of the plant and of every single component, and a test on the measures of protection
used (for example devices of limitation of the strength, safety devices), using certified instruments. The results of the tests must be recorded in special reports
4. Preparing a technical issue (which must be preserved at least 10 years and available for authority examination) containing:
• Risks analysis – The solutions necessaries in order to reduce the risks are taken from the EN 12453
• Mechanical project
• Electrical project
• Minutes of final testing 5. Put on the motorized closing a mark as clear evidence of conformity to the following Directive: Machine
and Electromagnetic compatibility for the automation of pre-existing doors, or Products for Building Machine and Electromagnetic compatibility for doors provided of automation
6. Getting signed by the purchaser a document of receipt of the machine/ motorized closing and suggesting a maintenance contract.

As seen in the table, people con be divided in three groups, depending on the use of the motorized closing:
• Group 1. Only a close number of people is authorized to the use, and the closing is NOT placed in a public area. For instance belongs to this kind company gates used only by the personnel or a part of it which is informed in an adequate way about the use.
• Group 2. Only a close number of people is authorized to the use, but in this case the closing is placed in a public area. For instance a company gate with the entrance in a public street used only by the personnel
• Group 3. Whoever can use the automatic closing, which is placed in a public area. For example the entrance door of a supermarket, of a car park, an office or a hospital and so on.
Another point to clear in order to understand the table, is the reference of the protection to be used in every situation:
• Protection A. The closing is activated by a manned control button (the door must be directly in sight of the personnel using the control button , a camera doesn’t suit for this use).
• Protection B. The closing is activated by a manned control (the door must be directly in sight of the personnel using the control, a camera doesn’t suit for this use) through a key selector or similar, in order to avoid the use by non authorised people.
• Protection C. Limit of the strengths of the door or gate leaf. The impact force must be beneath a curve determined by the currently set of rules.
• Protection D. Devices, like photocells, made for detect the presence of people or obstacles. They can be active on one or both the door or gate sides.
• Protection E. Sensitive devices (ESPE, PSPE), as immaterial platforms or barrier, made for detect the presence of a person in order that, in no way, during the movement the leaf could hit him/her. These devices must be active in all the “dangerous area” of the gate.
Kind of dangers due an automatic closing
• Crushing • Dangers connected with the automation;
• Shearing • Dangers due to safety devices failures;
• Conveyance • Dangers present during the manual movement of the leaf;
• Crash • Entrapment dangers;
• Lifting of people • Dangers of overtaking the limits of the leaf travel.
