WORLD TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY
Last Friday we celebrated World Teacher Appreciation
Day at Goornong PS. We are very fortunate to have a
team of skilled, passionate and committed teachers who
come to our school and teach our students. Whether
they be our full-time classroom teachers or our part-time
specialist teachers, they all care deeply about the stu-
dents and this helps to make Goornong PS such a posi-
tive environment for learning. I sincerely thank our team
of teachers for the enthusiasm and expertise that they
bring to our school on each and every school day!

cember at the Drovers’ Arms Hotel.
LITTLE LEARNERS’ PROGRAM
Our Little Learners Program began this week and we
welcome Brock, Hunter, Max, Mary, Amy, Olivia and Eliz-
abeth to our school. The Little Learners will be partici-
pating in classroom activities once a week over the next
five weeks preparing them for their first year of school
next year. The next session is on Wednesday 21st No-
vember at 2.00pm.
REMINDER—STUDENT-FREE DAYS
A reminder that there are two Student-Free days during
Term Four. These are on Wednesday 14th and Monday
26th November. On these days the teachers will be
writing student reports and participating in a whole-
school curriculum planning workshop.
EARLY ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL
The school staff have noticed many students and parents
arriving at the school well before 8.30am. Whilst we ad-
mire people’s eagerness to begin the school day, we
would appreciate parents and students respecting our
school’s operating hours. Please do not arrive at the
school prior to 8.30am.
CAMPASPE CLUSTER SUMMER SPORTS—GRADES 3-6
On Friday 23rd November our Grade Three-Six students
will travel to the Elmore Recreation Reserve to partici-
pate in the annual Campaspe Cluster Summer Sports
Carnival. Our students will join with students from the
other Campaspe Cluster schools to participate in Round
Robin activities for their chosen sport – either cricket,
tennis, lawn bowls or tee-ball.
A permission form and further details for this excursion
accompanied the newsletter on October 26th.
Principal’s Report GRADE THREE-SIX EXCURSION TO CAPITAL THEATRE
Our Grade Three-Six students have been invited to
attend a performance of ‘Air Race’ by the Arena Thea-
tre Company at the Capital Theatre in Bendigo on
Thursday 29th November. Air Race is the story of seven
teams who take to the skies in a dare-devil adventure
that takes them half way around the world. Maintain-
ing their flying machines with found objects, random
spare parts and an enormous dose of ingenuity, these
aviators took to the skies at a time when “risk-
management” just wasn’t a thing. Will they sur-
vive? Will they make it to Australia? And will Australia
be the place they thought it was when they get there?
Further details of this excursion accompany today’s
newsletter.
GRADE FIVE-SIX ANGLESEA CAMP
We are now just three weeks away from the Grade Five
-Six camp to Anglesea. The camp runs from Tuesday
4th—Friday 7th December.
Accompanying today’s newsletter is the camp pack for
those attending. We ask that families take the time to
go through this information with their child and to re-
turn the required forms by Friday 23rd November.
A reminder that the final cost of the camp is $418 per
student, plus an additional $38 for those students who
have elected to participate in the optional surfing les-
son.
We ask that families please finalise the Anglesea Camp
payment by Tuesday 27th November.
I encourage parents to come and see me should pay-
ment for camp be a concern as it is our school’s policy
that no students should miss out on camps due to fi-
nances. Danica and I are happy to talk with you about
flexible options to ensure your child is able to attend.
Camp packs with full details of the camp will be sent
home soon!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions
regarding camp.
STUDENT FEES
With the end of the school year fast approaching, we
now ask that any families with outstanding amounts
please make arrangements to finalise these payments.
Statements accompany today’s newsletter for any fami-
lies with outstanding amounts. We appreciate the sup-
port of our families in paying fees as this enables the
school to provide the students with the resources and
programs to support their learning.

Last Tuesday marked the culmination of this year’s Bike Education Program with the annual Grade Three-Six Bike
Ride to English’s Bridge. A big thank you to Les, Sara, Mark, Peter and Lara who helped out on the day—your sup-
port ensures that we are able to offer this special opportunity to our students!
We also acknowledge the work of our qualified Bike Education instructor Mr D, who volunteers his time each year
to coordinate our school’s Bike Education Program—thanks heaps Mr D!
Visit to the Goornong CFA
On Tuesday our students
visited the local fire sta-
tion to learn about fire
safety and to see the
equipment that our local
volunteer firefighters use
to keep our community
safe. A big thank you to
Jason, Sara, Jamie and
the team from the Goor-
nong CFA for hosting our
school.

Chinese Culture, including a Chinese

excursions to hold a valid Working With
Children Card. If you hold a valid
WWCC card and would like to join us on
this excursion please see me ASAP.

Prep-Two Classroom Teacher
A big thank you to Brendan from Anyday Antennas
and Tim the Fixologist who have both donated
their time during the past few weeks to complete
some jobs at the school. Tim mounted the TVs to
the walls in each of the learning spaces and Bren-
dan connected up the TV antenna so we were able
to watch the Melbourne Cup.
