  • A Message from Mark Davis regarding ourTriathlon for Troops member

Russell Price. He has been a member

going on two years now. He was instru-

mental in getting us on Mac Dill AFB

last year to do some brick training at that

awesome site. He has been sporting

Team Psych gear around the world in his

    military travels since leaving Tampa.

Russ and his wife want so much to return

to Tampa. As such I asked him to work

together to get him back. Please read be-

low and think if there is a place for him

    and his lovely wife.

To update you and the rest of Team

Psych (Tampa team) the Team Psych (El

Paso team namely me) has been hard at

work in school since I left Tampa in June

of 2012. I have started up an unofficial satellite team and have about 33 El Fuegoites. This June, I will graduate from the United States Sergeants Major Academy, and, at the same time, I will graduate from Excelsior College with

my Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership. So now, I find myself in the hunt for a job and hope that someone in Team Psych

will know of an opening that might match my skills and talents. My back-

ground is in operations and project or program management and, in addition to

the MBA, I am a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. For those not ac-

quainted with the Lean Six Sigma program, we attempt to reduce costs and/or

increase profits using quality management methods specific to the program.

In addition, if and when I find a job, hopefully in Tampa, my wife will be

looking for employment as well. As she has worked as an office manager for

the past 13 years will be looking for something in the same field. My wife and I

are grateful for the help and support.

  • The Chilly Willy Duathlon 2013 was of

the funnest races I've ever done. And it

was chilly - 45 degrees when I arrived

and racked my bike. The distances were

    5k run - 10mi bike - 5k run. As this was

    the Southeast championships for duath-

lon there were alomost 700 entrants. I

think I was the only pirate team psych-o

there. Next yeatr let's get more people

out, it's a REALLY fun, quick race. My

first 5k was 24:30, bike was about 24

min, and my 2nd 5k run 24:15. This was

my first race on my new Trinity tri bike.

Knowing it was only ten miles made it

easy to stay in the big chain ring and

push the biggest gear I had. I believe I

finished 14th of 50 or so in my age group

    - really happy with that! I did wear all

    black to represent Team Psych.

  • What an incredible Saturday morning? Andas the weather started to change shortly after we left, a bit of a gift too. You all played a part in today's successperhaps some of you weren't able to be with us, but trust me, you were there! From the beginning, when the kids picked up their awesome and packed to the brim Publix Insulated Goody/Lunch Bag that included a Publix Soccer Beach Ball, a Kellogg's Soccer Ball, Kashi GoLean Bar, Dole Fruit Cup, metroPCS Lanyard & more To the looks of awe as Mayor Buckhorn chatted with them in the sweetest of waysto the smiles on their faces as they played game after interactive gameposed for photos with 'Carmen & Wagner, the Krewe of Alegria Ladies, Tony The Ti-ger, Start Wars Characters & the UT Spartanpicked up their Fifth Third Bank piggy bank...got their faces paintedgot tat-tooed by Team Psych Tri, sampled lots of healthy foods from Evos, GoGo Squeeze, Hershey's & Smoothie King...and fi-nally The time came for them to step up to their Start Linethey concentrated on every instruction that was given and waited on the anticipated 'On You Mark - Get Set - Go!' Some were able to run the entire distanceothers walkedsome did bothbut they all finished and after grabbing a bottle of Zephyrhills Spring Water, watched with wide eyes as their Fifth Third Bank Too Good For Drugs Jr. Gasparilla Distance Classic Finisher's Medal was placed around their necksthenlooked around for their parents affirming words and expressionsawesome! A good time was had by all and the day ended as it began

  • with the voice of WQYK DJ, Kurt Shriner. He's a dad himself and did a great job of keeping everyone informedgetting us to the right spots and at the right timekeeping the par-ents calm as they let their children's hands go in the Start Area...knowing exactly when the time came for a kind word to address a parent or child's needKurt treated the morning as a dad would. You guys are awesomethanks to you, the kids and parents had tons of fun and I'm cer-tain, made many memories. Thank you so very muchif you ever question your company or organization's giving, giving of yourselves or your time, just remember all of the smiles that we saw todaythen, take a look at these photosthis is precisely why we do what we do! In closing, we must say congratulations and a special thank you to Jeremy too! Buddy, you did an awesome jobAWESOME! Have a great Sunday! These rides will be in the 15-25 mile range. They

will vary in locations. The goal is to develop skills in

riding, especially with a group. There will be a ex-

perienced team member that will agree to keep the

beginner rider on track to the end of the ride.

There is no excuse to say you have to be stronger or

more experienced. the point of these rides is to help
