Ladder & Step Ladder CourseLadder Association Training courses are part of a national training scheme for users, supervisors and managers wanting to equip themselves with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to use ladders legally and safely.

They will give the candidates the required knowledge to allow them to assess and determine when it is appropriate to use ladders and stepladders, select appropriate equipment for the task, and understand the hazards related to the use of Ladders and Stepladders.

Ladder Inspection Course Written with guidance from the UK’s leading experts on ladder manufacture, maintenance and safety, the Ladder Association scheme addresses all the issues raised by the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

Tower Training Tower training courses will give delegates the necessary knowledge to allow them to choose, build, alter, move, disassemble, inspect and make effective use of mobile access towers safely.

A training photo card and certificate provides written evidence that you have taken and successfully completed training to an accredited standard. Many sites will not allow the assembly, dismantling, movement and in some cases even the use of mobile scaffold towers without first seeing proof of certified tower training.

The Work at Height Regulations requires that the assembly of mobile access towers be only undertaken by, or under the supervision of a competent person. A competent person is someone considered to have training, relevant technical knowledge and experience. Having worked in close conjunction with the HSE to develop the course, tower training qualifications are now recognised as proof of competence and widely accepted throughout the UK.

IPAF MEWP TrainingIPAF MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) training developed by leading industry professionals is certified by TÜV as conforming to the international standard ISO 18878:2004 Mobile elevating work platforms—Operator (driver) training. The training course will give candidates the required knowledge to allow them to competently operate various different types of MEWP. The IPAF training course also gives delegates the ability to correctly select the equipment taking into account the hazards and required control measures. The delegates will learn how to perform a pre use inspection and what to do in the event of an emergency.

IPAF Harness TrainingSafety harnesses are being used for fall protection more and more frequently. Training is absolutely vital as the repercussions of poorly fitted harnesses or incorrect product selection can be fatal.

Two harness training courses for different levels of use are available. Full harness training accredited by our Spanset Harness trained Instructors to the level of Harness Inspector for any person that could find themselves in a fall arrest situation and the more specific IPAF harness training for harness use in MEWPS.

Both courses can be run together to give both accreditations if required.

The casing and trapdoor are rebated for extra tightness to ensure there is no space for drafts. The ladder’s efficiency is significantly increased with the fitting of a rubber draft excluder that is tested to the internationally recognised air-seal standard EN 12207.

Insulated Trap Door to EN 14975

The 26mm insulated trapdoor is finished in white on both sides with hidden trapdoor hinges. Manufactured from Spruce and sourced from FSC certified forests that are managed with consideration for people, wildlife and the environment. The FSC label guarantees that the trees harvested are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally.

Robust construction tested to 265kg

Designed for regular use the stiles are 84mm deep with comfortable 82mm non-

slip treads. The ladder is tested to 265kg and certified to EN 14975 which has a max working load of 150kg. Fits between standard UK 600mm joists.

Every ladder is delivered with a wooden pull rod to assist in opening and closing the ladder which is spring assisted for smooth comfortable operation. Two handrails are fitted to provide maximum security when climbing into the loft.

WarrantiesWe put our products through rigorous tests to ensure that our access products are built to the highest standards. You will probably never encounter a problem with your product, but in the unlikely event that within the warranty period (see table below) from the date of the original purchase, a problem caused by defects in either workmanship or materials is discovered, we’ll be happy to repair or replace, at our option and without cost to the original purchaser. All we ask is that you get your ladder to our Distribution Centre in Cardiff. If it is determined that the problem is covered by our warranty, we’ll take care of the rest. All transport costs to and from the Distribution Centre is to be paid by the customer. If a replacement is necessary and your product is no longer available, a comparable product will be substituted.

All of TB Davies products are tested to withstand normal wear and tear, but are not indestructible and can be damaged by misuse. Our warranty will not cover wear and tear, misuse and/or abusive treatment. But we do ensure a timely resolution at a fair price. Misuse may include, but is not limited to, damage by vehicles, tools, people, animals, falling objects, acts of God, and using the product in any matter contrary to the warning/instruction labels or for an application it was clearly not intended.

Before you send your product back for warranty review, please call us at 029 2071 3000 to obtain a Return Authorisation Number or RAN from our Customer Service Department. Return your product prepaid, insured, and well packaged. Include your name, address, phone number, proof of purchase, and a brief description of the problem. The address to return the product is: TB Davies (Cardiff) Ltd, Penarth Road, Cardiff CF11 8TD.

This shall be in lieu of any other warranty, expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The liability of TB Davies under this warranty shall be limited solely to repair or replacement of the ladder within the warranty period; and TB Davies shall not be liable, under any circumstances, for consequential or incidental damages, including but not limited to, personal injury or labour costs. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights. Manufacturing specifications are subject to change without notice.

Work Load Capacity

The maximum static vertical load to be applied to a piece of equipment. Only accurately measured under test conditions.
