Safety and Environmental Issues over the yearsHealth, Safety and Environmental awareness levels have significantly risen over the years amongst Tayanna employees. This continues to be supported by a strong commitment from management.

Constant reference to ISO also gave guidance over these years in managing our H.S.E issues. In accordance with our Behavioural Based Safety (B.B.S) procedures we were able to recognize that most near-miss incidents in disregard of their Maximum Reasonable Outcome (M.R.O) were as a result of people doing jobs they were not trained to perform. As a way to put controls on such risks we have become stricter in our recruiting process of new employees.

Health, Safety & Environment: Our Current StatusWe have over the years kept our lost time injuries and vehicle accident rate to negligible levels and have suffered no fatalities. A great sense of responsibility and stewardship in terms of H.S.E issues among Tayanna workers has seen us maintaining these good safety standards.

Our daily toolbox talk, coupled with Rio Tinto Safety Health and Environment procedures, has significantly improved our staff in terms of H.S.E. Our bottom up approach in solving problems has also ignited a sense of responsibility to our workers.

Tayanna Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) cover the following areas:
