Initial Ideas

• I am working by myself on this project because I want the experience of independently making a music video. Also I want to be involved in very aspect that is required during the process for making a music video. Working independently can be a hassle but I am able to set my own deadlines and meet them. Plus I am able to focus on the vision that I see for the video and make it come to life.

• The artist that I have chosen to make the song for is Tiggs a underground female Grime MC from London. The name of the song is called “Don’t Phone Me”.

• During the music video there will be no performance but a narrative will be in place throughout the video.

Ideas• Idea 1:• Follow stereotypical conventions of a grime/ hip

hop video of a large entourage in background. As well as using street locations and have a narrative of my artist being chased by a “fan”.

• Idea 2:• The artist would be in front of a white screen

with animation surrounding them. All types of animation would show what the artist is saying in different fonts and pictures.

Idea 3

• Idea 3:• Combine idea’s 2&3 use different aspects of both

and create a stereotypical grime/hip hop video so audiences know what genre it is. Also include non stereotypical things in the video to make it stereotypical but also stand out from others by having different things.

Reasons• The ideas that I have chosen for the song are

appropriate because they are stereotypical and relate to the lyrics. All ideas that I have thought of fit the genre, having an entourage is something that is seen in nearly every grime/hip hop video it is a convention. I’ve looked at numerous videos and picked out what I see most of and have decided that a few of them will be used in my video so it fits the genre. In some aspects my idea does link to the lyrics some visual things in the video will link. Some of the lyrics that standout will be a guide for the narrative of the video.
