Quality

Some companies want to focus more on the quality of their products rather than the price. You can see this because they will provide good quality clothes that you could class as ‘expensive’ where as some other shops will make all their clothes cheap so more people buy them but are not necessarily good quality clothes. Top shop and Miss Selfridge are two examples of shops that focus more on the quality than the price, because they provide you with quality clothes that last and look nice, but the price that comes along could put people off buying them, but a lot of people do buy them because they want their clothes at a high quality.

Price

A lot of companies are the opposite and want to focus more on the prices of their product because people will want to buy them because they can spend less. You can see from these images that when you first go onto a website they push their sales on to you before you look through their website, because they want you to know that they are having a sale to make might be spending less but you might not be buying the quality of clothes that you are wanting.

Image

Topshop gives across a very unique image. You can se from their logo, that they are a very simple but smart and classy store, they want you to know that what you will find inside will be very high-quality. If the logo they used was busy and colorful you may think that what they sell quite cheap and ‘tacky’ clothes. So they have kept the logo nice and simple which attracts more people. They advertise their company by showing a model wearing their clothing rage, they do this because people will see it and want to look just like them therefore will go out and buy it. You can see from the layout of the shop tat it is split into different areas, they have done this so people going in can find their specific style and find this related to that that they might like. His words because people will see other things that they might not have originally been looking for but like therefore will buy it. The type of clothes that tell sell are clothes that you would find on famous people, on celebrities that everyone looks up to. Having celebrities wearing these clothes will help with their image of smart professional clothing.

Value

Value is when there's two similar products but one is better value because its cheaper. Most people will buy the cheaper item because it is fashionable and it is more or less the same as the more expensive one therefore you're getting the same product but for cheaper. As you can see from the images that they are both similar styled dress but one is £17 and the other is £35. The more expensive one is going to be higher quality whereas the cheaper one isn't going to be a good quality, but people will still buy it because it is fashion and if its fashionable and cheap people will buy it.

CompetitionYou don’t find much obvious competition between the different types of clothes stores, but you can see that there is small competition. You can see that a lot of different shops have very similar items but from shop to shop you will find that they are all different prices, that is because some are higher quality than other, but it is also because some stores make their prices lower to try increase sales. They want more people to buy that item from their shop over any other shops. You might also see in magazine competitions for you to win prizes to do with a specific shop, this is competition because you are attracting more and more people towards your shop.

You will find a lot more competition between food stores, as you see a lot of these adverts on the TV.

They do this for the same reason, they want to show

that their store is much cheaper than another's

making more people want to go buy there.

Market

Your market is who buys your products, where you sell them and who your competition are. For example new look is very common amongst people ages 11 to 30. It has a wide range of different types of clothes which helps to widen the range of the audience resulting in getting more customers. A lot of these stores are based in popular shopping areas such as in town

centres or in large shopping centres, this is because it is a popular shop that most people will want to go in and if they are in popular areas they will get a lot more customers going in. they also have a lot of competition because there is a lot of clothes shops that are in very

similar areas for example in a town centre you could find, new look, topshop, next, primark, h&m, zara, riverisland , lipsy etc all down the same street. So they need to make sure they

stand out so people choose to go there instead of somewhere else.
