Who is our target audience?
QUESTIONNAIRE 1
In order to create our music video, we need to be able to identify our target
audience. Doing this will identify what needs to be included into the music
video to attract the audience. We asked 36 people; 18 being men and 18 being female.. This gives us a overview of the
age of our target audience.

We asked our audience weather they liked to watch TV channels or listen to the radio stations for their music.

Looking at the results for the choice of TV or radio, both men and women agree that they prefer to watch TV stations as apposed to listening to the radio.
We asked our general public what TV stations they liked to watch. This was asked to both men and women.

Both of our gender audiences preferred to watch Kerrang station for their music. This means that the predicted genre type for our target audience will be rock. Saying this, we will now need to investigate songs that would appear on the Kerrang TV station.
We asked our general public what radio stations they liked to listen to. This was asked to both men and women.

Both of our gender audiences preferred to listen to the Kerrang station for their music. This means that the predicted genre type for our target audience will be rock. Saying this, we will now need to investigate songs that would appear on the Kerrang radio station.
We asked our audience as a whole how they listened to their music proportionally. This would help us determine
the best method of distribution to out audience.

Most of our public like to listen to their music with a visual aspect. This contributes to how important the music video is as a contribution of our popularity of our music video.
We asked our entire audience what appealed to them most in a music video. This means how the video is presented through the layout of the video.. Conception means that is has
not relevance to the song nor narrative, Performance means just the performing of the band, Performance +
narrative means that there is a narrative within the song that has
inserts of the band, and finally narrative is just an entirely running
story line throughout. The majority of our the people said that they liked
narrative + performance. Doing this draws in the public with the storyline
but also promotes the bad with the use of showing them performing.

We asked our groups what genre of music they mostly liked to listen to. This would give us an idea of a popular genre to
base our music video off of.

2 men voted they liked pop and RnB, the most popular was the rock genre with 10 votes. 3 people voted for indie and only one voted for other. This shows us that the most popular genre is rock.

9 people voted for the rock genre and 2 people voted for indie, RnB, and other. 3 women voted upon the pop genre. This tells us that rock was the most popular genre.
After asking our audience what music they liked to listen to the most, most men concluded they listened to rock.
Developing upon this, we asked the age range of each of the 18 men questioned.

On average, our highest age for me that watch rock is 16 to 21 years old. 6 out of 10 people we asked are this age range. This means that our target audience will be directed towards 16 – 21 year olds.
We asked the 18 men that listen to rock music to see if they thought that the music video influenced them into buying
the song/album. Doing this will inform us about how important the music video is for the promotion of our
chosen song.

Over all, the 18 men that we asked decided upon “no difference” and “yes” for the importance of the music video in contribution to the buying of the song/album. The amount that voted “yes” is still in the high majority and will still need to be taken into consideration.
In conclusion we have found our target audience are mainly men aged
16 – 12, whom listen to the rock genre and like to watch music videos
on the kerrang TV station. This information is critical for the
development of our music video.
