WHO IS MY TARGET AUDIENCE?

• Female

• Ages 12-15

• Love of pop music

• Love of stereotypical ‘girly’ features

• Interested in fashion, makeup, boys, gossip and music

WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS PARTICULAR AUDIENCE?• I chose this age group and gender as it is not far off my own

age group and as I am also female I feel that it would be appropriate to use this audience as I know a lot about what they may be interested in and what to include into the magazine.

• I have done a lot of research into this audience also which helps me to understand what appeals to this particular group and how to attract them to the magazine.

• I feel that I am educated on this particular genre of music (pop) than I am with any other so I decided that this was the best audience to choose to appeal to as I can apply my own knowledge on top of any information I learn through out the process.

MAGAZINES WITH SIMILAR TARGET AUDIENCE• There are a number of teen magazines with a similar target

audience to my own. One of the more popular magazines is We Love Pop published by Egmont Media Company.

MAGAZINES WITH SIMILAR TARGET AUDIENCES• Another popular magazine with a similar target audience is

also Teen Now. This is published by IPC and includes many features similar to my own pop magazine.

SIMILAR CONVENTIONS ATTRACTING THE AUDIENCE• Many of the pop magazines that I have researched all have

similar conventions due to their image and their contents too. I have noticed that similar colours, images and text types are used within the magazines I have looked into. On top of this, the features within the magazines are very similar too. Here are different types of magazines where you can clearly see the similarities between them:
