Dear Friends and Supporters of Catholic Charities,In his latest encyclical, ‘Laudato Si’, Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, focuses on our moralobligation to be good stewards of God’s creation and address the destructive impact that ourchoices can make on the world around us. The Pope points out the “throwaway culture”which poisons the way we value people and blinds us to the urgent need to be more openand compassionate to others. Many require healing and support to help them reach theirfull human potential and flourish.

As I reflect on my first months as Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Charities, I have acquired special admiration and respect for all of the years this organization has providedcharitable outreach to individuals and families, especially those most in need. Inspired bythe message of Scripture and the teaching of the Church, volunteers and employees ofCatholic Charities have responded and continue to respond to the complex social problems that exist in our communities.

Most importantly, we are able to reach out to serve the needy and the disadvantaged because of your interest and generosity. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, our staff, volunteers, clients and friends of Catholic Charities, I would like to express our gratitude to those who have contributed to our mission of Providing Help and Creating Hope.
