City Overview | Kaufman, TX

Kaufman is a cozy suburb of the Dallas MSA that offers big city amenities and resources with a small town touch. Just a short drive from Dallas, the city is located southeast of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, giving access to a plethora of dining, entertainment and business opportunities.

Taking a pro-business approach, the Kaufman Economic Development Corporation has been working diligently to attract new busi-ness and retail to the area by incentivizing development with a non-union environment, ample water, low cost of utilities, raw land and new zoning ordinances. Most recently, a Walmart was built with more proposed developments soon to follow.

As for the city, Dallas is a one of the major cities in Texas and is the largest urban center of the fourth most populous metropolitan area in the United States. With strong demographic statistics, Dallas supports its diversity with strong retail, boasting more shopping cen-ters per capita than any other U.S. city. Additionally, the Dallas Farmers Market, open daily in downtown, is one of the largest open-air markets in the country.

Essential to the city experience, at least a dozen entertainment districts can be found near downtown, each offering its own mix of culture, shopping and dining. In addition, Dallas is home to six professional sports teams such as the Dallas Cowboys (NFL), Dallas Mavericks (NBA), Dallas Stars (NHL), Dallas Desperados (AFL), FC Dallas (MLS) and Texas Rangers (MLB).
