Wireless charging evaluation
platforms from Semtech
are available at Mouser
Electronics. The wireless
kits allow design engineers
to quickly develop and test
wireless charging solutions
for a broad range of low,
medium and high power
applications.
The kits are available in a
for transmitter and receiver
evaluation and provide the
tools that design engineers
need to quickly prototype and
demonstrate their wireless
charging applications.
Included in the kits are a PCB
with a controller, necessary
components such as FET
drivers and buck regulators,
can easily upgrade. The
evaluation kits support single
and multi-mode functionality
and can quickly be adapted
to support evolving wireless
charging standards.

Noise generators controlled via Ethernet
AtlanTecRF has introduced its
RNG range of 19 broadband
noise generators featuring
Ethernet control. Designed
to form a built-in test facility
in permanent installations of
communications equipment
or production test set-ups,
these high output instruments
operate in frequency ranges
starting at 10Hz and continuing
up to 18GHz in standard
to 40GHz and beyond for
custom applications.

First smart home IoT protection system
easy-to-use encryption device,
Keezel, has launched The
Keezel Home Connect to protect
smart homes and IoT devices.
The Keezel Home Connect
safeguards the entire home
network and connected devices
by creating a separate, private
network for smart devices for
better security and protection
against hackers.
Moreover, as an added safety
layer, the Keezel isolates all
of these devices from one
another so, in case one gets
hacked, all the others remain
protected and data is not put
at risk.

Test & Measurement
Big data for everyoneCollecting and analysing measurement data throughout a company is an important requirement for continuous product optimisation. By using intelligent open source solutions, now even large amounts of data can be saved at a low cost and be evaluated with the help of big data technologies. Dr. Hans-Jörg Kremer, Peak Solution explains.
design
18 electronicspecifier.com
Technical departments that
test electronic or mechanical
components, modules or entire
vehicles usually document their results
locally. Due to the resulting isolated
solutions however, measurement data
is rarely used outside their origination
process. Nonetheless, measurement
data is valuable because they represent
knowledge about products and their
development. A measurement data
management system that is used in
combination with big data technologies
enables the long term systematic use of
measurement data and extrapolates them
for the entire life span of the product.
Since individual vehicle components are
often used unchanged in the succeeding
models, even older test results can
become relevant again. Well researchable
data storage, as well as processes
with which patterns and coherences
are recognised across tests, projects,
departments and locations therefore offer
decisive competitive advantages. Moreover,
in order to allege performed tests in case of
a product liability litigation in the automotive
industry, data often has to be stored for up
to 30 years. There seems to be a general
agreement on keeping measurement data
and test documentation available over the
entire life span of a product.
On the limit
Measurements are, however, accumulated
in enormous amounts that increasingly
go beyond what can be saved in an
economically viable way on traditional
assistance systems, several terabytes
of data are accumulated per week.
Those who point out the intrinsic value
of measurement data and want to keep
everything are put in their place by

sounds like an argument put forward by
a measurement data hoarder who has
to be forced to select important data.
However, gigantic amounts of data is

Even massive volumes of measurement
data can be processed with it.
When introducing a company wide
