President’s MessageWe had our monthly May meeting on Tuesday May 15th at the Rosetown Legion. Here is a recap of some of the upcoming events. Thursday June 7th, 7:00 PM: Meet at the Rosetown Legion to stuff goodie bags for the GM Show. The more members that attend will make this go fast. If you don’t attend you will have to answer to TERRY FORD. Saturday June 9th, 8:00 AM: Meet at the Roseville Perkins (near Har Mar Mall) and then go to the Fair grounds and set up our tent. Only 5-6 people are needed but the more the better. Sunday June 10th :GM Show at the Fair Grounds. As everyone know this is a MAJOR fund raiser for our club so we need everyone’s attendance. We also need every club member who knows anyone with a GM car or truck to attend. Saturday June 16th. This will be our first annual DAVE BENNETT CRUISE. We will meet at the upper parking lot at the Rosetown Legion at 10:00 (Rain or Shine). We will be going up to the upper St. Croix valley, down through Still-water, and ending up in Afton for Ice cream. The exact route has not been es-tablished yet but I will have flyers Dave did a lot for both our TOMAHAWK chapter as well as the NATIONAL POCI chapter. I think out of respect for Dave we should have our best turnout ever for a cruise. Please mark it down and attend. Tuesday June 19th 7:00 PM. Our monthly chapter meeting at Wagner’s Drive In at Brooklyn Park Everyone enjoy their start of the summer at I will see everyone at the bag stuffing on June 7th Have a fun and safe Memorial Day!

May Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 with 13 members present and some more arriving a little later.

We would like to welcome new mem-ber Dick Johnson who came all the way from Paynesville, he has a 1969 Firebird. Last month’s minutes were read and accepted. A treasurer’s report was given and accepted.

Old Business - Tony did a good burn-out that impressed his children.

I won a trophy in my first drag strip outing of the year.

New Business - Terry has GM show flyers for anyone who can pass them out. We are going to stuff goody bags on June 7th at the Rosetown Legion, 7:00 pm.

The Street Rodder cartoonist, Dave Bell, passed away. He drew Dave Ben-nett’s car and bike in a tribute to him in the last issue.

Selma’s Ice Cream in Afton is open and may make a good cruise destination.

We discussed when we would like to have the Dave Bennett cruise. We thought we would try on the 16th of June, at 10:00 am. We plan to meet

at the Rosetown Legion and cruise to Selma’s ice cream in Afton.

Nick brought in some artwork to see what we would like to put on our club stickers. He also brought in some info on the Fireball Roberts NASCAR vic-tory special edition Grand Prix.

We discussed some items for the up-coming GM show. Meet at the Perkin’s on Snelling at 9:00 am for tent set –up on June 10th.

The “Pontiac Happening” is this Satur-day at the Chanhassen AutoMotorPlex from 9:00 to 12:00 with a cruise after-wards.

We talked about the mailing to court new members and maybe a change in our newsletter paper.

We also did some testing on removing lettering on our wooden plaques so that we might find a use for them.

Paul mentioned a 1966 Bonneville that is for sale, it has a rusted frame but comes with a southern replacement. So anybody looking for a new project?

Our new member Dick won the draw-ing! Respectfully submitted,

Steve “Mudbird” Weese Tomahawk Chapter Secretary
