Painting in all MediumsThis short course provides tuition in different mediums for each session such as drawing, watercolour, acrylic, soft Pastels and oil paints It aims to introduce a variety of mediums which the individual can explore, experiment with and then go on to a further course with their chosen medium.

Colour Theory for AllAn essential for painting, printmaking, textiles and applied arts, knowledge of how colour works will improve your particular specialism. This course will include mixing of colour in both acrylic and watercolour mediums, history of colour, how it can be used effectively, and identifying components of colour, as well as learning about the origins of pigments.

Printmaking FabricUsing heat transfer inks and a hot heated press, learners can design and print their own fabrics using stenciling, painting and organic resist. These fabrics could be then used for clothing, soft furnishings or accessories.

Level 2 Certificate in Wellbeing This this qualification will cover include: introduction to stress and stress management, personal safety awareness, introductory awareness of the importance of healthy eating and drinking for adults, introduction to alcohol awareness for the individual, understanding eating disorders, diabetes awareness in health and care.



Level 2 Certificate in Prevention and Control of Infection This qualification aims to help learners to understand, the meaning and importance of infection control, the causes of infections, the conditions in which they thrive and the ways that they can be spread, methods used to prevent and control the spread of infection.



16–19 Study Skills Programme

This programme is designed to help learners study up to and including a Level 2 qualification and a recognised qualification in English and Maths.

You can choose from practical work-based vocational skills or simply work towards gaining a qualification while you decide exactly what career path you want to follow. Your programme of study is likely to include some Maths, English and work experience as part of the course.

Throughout the programme, you will benefit from a dedicated Support Worker and free guidance on any money you could receive e.g. travel/bursary payments. Support will be available throughout your programme to help you achieve and complete your chosen course.

If you are aged between 16-24 years of age and looking to enhance your skills to get into work, onto an Apprenticeship programme or further training then our Traineeship programme could be right for you.

Apprenticeship 16+Earn while you learn Apprenticeships are a great way to obtain a recognised work-related qualification. You will find a range of apprenticeships available for you to choose from along with help to find that very important job. Typically, apprentices spend one day per week at College and the rest of the week at the workplace. Teacher TrainingWe offer a range of teaching courses, giving you the opportunity to advance your career in learning support or teacher training. These qualifications are ideal for those either working in, or considering a career in, teaching and education.

Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 2This qualification is suitable for individuals working or volunteering in roles that support pupils learning within a classroom environment for a minimum of 6 hours a week.

Level 3 Award in EducationThis is an introductory knowledge based qualification. It is designed to be a stepping stone to the Certificate and Diploma.

Important InformationFees & PaymentsPayment for your chosen courses(s) is a follows:

Individual course fee up to £150 (after concession) · Full payment must be made at the time of enrolment.

Individual course fee £151-£849 (after concession) · Full payment must be made at the time of enrolment or · 60% of course fee at the time of enrolment and the remaining 40% by 3rd March 2017.

Individual course fee £850 or more (after concession) · Full payment must be made at the time of enrolment. or · 60% of course fee at the time of enrolment, 20% by Friday 3rd March 2017 and the remaining 20% by April 7th 2017.

The service reserves the right to request full payment at the time of enrolments.

NB Please note you are liable for the full course fee regardless of when you leave the course, irrespective of your payment method. It is important that you make the payment(s) by the date(s) stated to secure your place on the course and for you and fellow students to benefit from this facility.

Concessionary FeesA fee reduction may apply for learners who are: 1 over 60 years of age and unwaged (non-qualification courses only). 2 receiving Jobseeker’s Allowance (including the partner where the claim is joint). 3 receiving Employment Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group (non-qualification courses only). 4 receiving Universal Credit (unemployed) and mandated (required) to undertake skills training (non-qualification courses only). 5 receiving Pension Credit (means tested) (non-qualification courses only). 6 aged 19-23 and do not currently hold a Level 2 and studying for a qualification funded by the Skills Funding Agency. Proof of benefits will be required at the time of enrolment.

Refund PolicyRefunds will only be given on the following grounds: 1 The course is cancelled by the Service 2 The learner cancels their place not less than 14 days befor the commencement date. The Policy does not apply to short courses of fewer than 2 sessions e.g. Saturday courses, where no refund will be given. 3 The learner withdraws from a course due to illness and can produce a doctor’s certificate.

What is a 19+ Advanced Learning Loan?The Government has introduced 19+ Advanced Learner Loans to help learners, aged 19 and over, in further education pay the college or training organisation fee. Getting a Loan doesn’t depend on your household income and there’s no credit check. You won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning over £21,000 a year. Once you earn over this amount you pay back 9% of the earnings you receive above this figure. What are my repayments likely to be?That depends on how much you earn. Visit www.studentloans.co.uk to see how monthly payments relate to earnings.REMEMBER: loan repayments only start when you are earning over £21,000 per year. What if I never earn more than £21,000 per annum?Currently if you do not exceed an annual salary of more than £21,000 your loan will never be repaid. Repayments won’t start for any course until [date], but you can make voluntary repayments before then. Can the 19+ Advanced Learning Loan be written off or cancelled?Normally any outstanding loan you have will be written off 30 years after it becomes eligible to be repaid. If you receive a disability-related benefit and are permanently unfit for work, it will be cancelled. Who is eligible for a 19+ Advanced Learning Loan?To be eligible for the loan you must be:· 19 or older on the first day of your course (there’s no upper age limit)· living in the UK on the first day of your course, and have lived in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for 3 years immediately before starting your course on or after 1 August 2013 Is there an upper age limit?There is no upper age limit in order to apply for a 19+ Advanced Learning Loan. Is there a maximum amount of Loan available?The course fees of the City College Peterborough courses eligible for the 19+ Advanced Learner Loans can be entirely covered by the loan amount you are able to take out. However, if you wish to take out a smaller amount (not less than £300) and fund the rest yourself, you are able to do this. Is the 19+ Advanced Learning Loan available to students with existing qualifications?Yes, previous qualifications that learners have achieved do not affect their ability to apply for a Loan to gain new qualifications. What happens next?Once you have been accepted onto the course of your choice, you will need to decide whether you wish to pay for your course yourself or apply for a 19+ Advanced Learning Loan. You will need to submit your application together with the offer letter to the Student Loan Company. Please note, once you enrol onto the course of your choice it is your responsibility to make arrangements to pay for the course. If you withdraw from the course for whatever reason, you are still responsible to pay City College Peterborough the amount outstanding.

ServicesRoom HireIf you are looking for meeting or training facilities in the heart of the city, then we can help. The College offers rooms for up to 50 delegates (air conditioned) and there is free AV equipment hire and on-site catering facilities too. There is a wide range of rooms available to suit the purpose of your business. The College also offers a range of facilities including a drama workshop, dance studio, community and meeting rooms at the John Mansfield Centre, based in Dogsthorpe.
