We have reviewed and implemented the temporary changes to this policy that have been put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The reports will not include grading of students using the five point A - E scale. This change applies to Semester 1 2020 only. Student reports for Semester 2 will be delivered using the A to E grading. Our reports for Semester 1 will be sent home at the end of Semester 1. Parent/Teacher interviews will be conducted early in Term 3, in the hopes that restrictions will have eased to allow for face to face interviews. The feasibility of other options for the interviews is also being explored. Please feel free to contact Mrs Leslie if you have any questions. Kindergarten 2021 Enrolment & Orientation At this point in time, we are still planning to have our Kindergarten 2021 Orientation in Week 6 of Term 3 in the hopes that the COVID-19 restrictions have been eased. Regardless, please be sure to contact the office if you have a child starting “Big School” in 2021. The Enrolment of Students in NSW Government Schools Policy has been revised and is in place to assist schools in meeting their obligations under the Education Act 1990 ensuring that every student has a place at their local school. We have already had many enquiries about Kindergarten enrolments for next year. Please be aware, that in many cases schools that used to be able to accept out-of-area enrolments, no longer have the ability to do so. ~ Catherine Leslie, Principal ~ Dates to Remember 2020 ~ TERM 2 Every day Please No vehicles entering carpark Tue 9 June Opportunity Class for 2021 Appls. Nationally Consistent Collection of Data - NCCD The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students (the national data collection) is an annual collection that counts the number of school students with learning difficulties and disabilities and the level of reasonable educational adjustment they are provided with. This mandatory federal government initiative has been in operation since 2013. For the purposes of the national data collection, students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia or auditory processing disorder as well as chronic health conditions like epilepsy, diabetes or asthma, that require active monitoring by the school, may be included. There is additional information posted on our school website, or contact Mrs Leslie if you have any questions about the NCCD.

Attendance & Absences Parents and carers are reminded that all students should be at school unless they have a medical certificate which states that they are unable to return to school due to an ongoing medical condition. Please note that students who live with a family member in one of the categories identified as being at risk of COVID by the AHPPC should attend school unless a medical practitioner advises otherwise in writing. Be sure to keep your children at home if they are unwell in any way, but please note that parents and carers who have identified their children as being unwell for three (3) or more days should provide a medical certificate. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs Leslie. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs Leslie.

Our students in 3C were busy with trundle wheels and exploring

shadows, there were STEM linked towers created for Rapunzel, our

Assembly Award recipients proudly displayed their certificates

and the Tooth Fairy has been very busy, too. Congratulations to all!

Survey Closing Soon! Reflections on the Learning Pack Experience – Survey We are now up to 12 parent/carer responses from our school community about the Learning Pack and learning-in-isolation experience since this reminder in last week’s newsletter. Hopefully we will get a few more responses this week. Thank you to all of those parents from Years K – 2 who have already helped their children to complete their reflection surveys. If you have misplaced your K-2 child’s survey, please feel free to ask for another copy! We would like your honest response to identify positive things that have come from the experience. As a parent/carer, we value your input - simply click on this link (or copy or cut and paste this URL into your browser) or ring the office on 9522-7277and ask for a paper version. It should only take about 5 minutes!
