Transcript of Sydney’s Harbor Bridge is a huge piece of construction that connects those living north of Sydney...
Sydney’s Harbor Bridge is a huge piece of construction that connects those living north of Sydney with the downtown area. The North Ryde Courtyard
Hotel was in a suburb about 10 miles north of the city, so we traveled across the bridge many times on the subway. The area on the left is a pier
and welcome center for huge ocean liners that visit Sydney Harbor.
Almost all ferries travel under the bridge, so we saw it from below a lot, too. The Opera House can be seen in these two shots.
This photo was shot from a ferry (part of it shown on the left). The Opera House is centered in the photo.
One of the many tourist come-ons—climbing the bridge (see the two groups of people on the top). I wanted to do this, but it cost well over $100 and one had to dress in special suits and be tethered to other tourists…no thanks.
Looking south, the bridge looms
overhead as a part of Sydney is
seen in the distance.
Two shots of the bridge’s abutments: huge granite supports.
Most of the days we used the ferries, the weather was gorgeous, as was this view of the Opera House and the huge Harbor Bridge.
Another shot of people climbing on the bridge—both the upper level and intermediate levels.
The “climb” was to take 5-6 hours or more.
