4.ILLEGALUSEYouarenottousetheSoftware,whetherdirectlyorindirectly,foranyillegalpurposeunderthelawsorordinancesofFederal,State,orlocalgovernments.ItisYoursoleresponsibilitytoknowandunderstandthelawsand/orordinancesthatgoverntheuseoftheSoftware.IntheeventthatYouviolateanyFederal,StateorlocallaworordinancebydirectorindirectuseoftheSoftware,Youshalltakefulllegalresponsibilityforsuchillegaluse.YoushallholdLicensorharmlessandwithoutfaultandotherwiseindemnifyLicensorforanydamage,costorliabilityincurredbyLicensorasaresultofanyuse,whetherornotsuchuseiswithinthescopeofthelicensesetforthherein.

5.UPDATESIftheSoftwareisanUpdatetoapreviousversionoftheSoftware,YoumustpossessavalidlicensetosuchpreviousversioninordertousetheUpdate.YoumaycontinuetousethepreviousversionoftheSoftwareonyourcomputerafterYoureceivetheUpdatetoassistYouinthetransitiontotheUpdate,providedthat:theUpdateandthepreviousversionareinstalledonthesamecomputer;thepreviousversionorcopiesthereofarenottransferredtoanotherpartyorcomputerunlessallcopiesoftheUpdatearealsotransferredtosuchpartyorcomputer;andYouacknowledgethatanyobligationBeLightSoftwaremayhavetosupportthepreviousversionoftheSoftwaremaybeendeduponavailabilityoftheUpdate.

6.LICENSOR'SRIGHTSYouacknowledgeandagreethattheSoftwareandDocumentationconsistsofproprietary,publishedandunpublishedpropertyofLicensor.Youfurtheracknowledgeandagreethatallright,title,andinterestinandtotheSoftwareandDocumentationareandshallremainwithLicensor.ThislicenseconveystoYoutherighttoinstallandusetheSoftwareandDocumentationinaccordancewiththetermsofthislicense.AllrightsnotexpresslygrantedherearereservedbyBeLightSoftware.TheLicensorwillnottransmityourpersonalinformationtoanythirdpartywithoutyourexpressconsent.

7.TERMINATIONThislicenseiseffectiveuponYourinstallingthesoftwareonanymachine,andshallcontinueuntilterminated.YoumayterminatethisAgreementatanytime.TheLicensormayimmediatelyterminatethisLicenseAgreementifyoubreachanyrepresentation,warranty,agreementorobligationcontainedorreferredtointhisLicenseAgreement.Upontermination,youmustdisposeoftheSoftwareandallcopiesorversionsoftheSoftwarebydestroyingtheSoftware.

8.LIMITEDWARRANTYBeLightSoftwareprovidesathirty(30)daymoney-backguaranteeontheSoftware.If,duringthisperiod,youaredissatisfiedwiththeSoftwareforanyreason,BeLightSoftwarewillrefundyourmoneyifyoureturntheSoftwareandallcopiestotheplaceofpurchasewithinthirty(30)daysofthedateoftheoriginalpurchase.THEFOREGOINGISTHESOLEANDEXCLUSIVEWARRANTYOFFEREDBYBELIGHTSOFTWARE.BELIGHTSOFTWAREDISCLAIMSALLOTHERWARRANTIES,EXPRESSORIMPLIED,INCLUDINGBUTNOTLIMITEDTOTHEIMPLIEDWARRANTIESOFMERCHANTABILITYANDFITNESSFORAPARTICULARPURPOSE,WITHREGARDTOTHELICENSEDSOFTWAREANDALLACCOMPANYINGMATERIALS.BELIGHTSOFTWAREANDITSAGENTSDONOTANDCANNOTWARRANTTHEPERFORMANCEORRESULTSYOUMAYOBTAINBYUSINGTHESOFTWARE.

ForNewDocumentsletsyouspecifywhattheprogramshoulddouponlaunch,orwhenyouchoosetocreateanewdocument.

ShowTemplateGallery:theprogramwillbringuptheTemplateGallery.Youcanopenandeditoneoftemplates.Shownewdocumentwindow:theprogramwillopentheNewDocumentdialogwhereyoucansetupthepageformat,marginsandotherproperties,andthencreateablankdocument.Createblankdocument:theprogramwillopenablankdocumentwiththedefaultproperties.Tomodifythedefaultproperties,clicktheCustomizebutton.ItwillopentheNewDocumentdialog.

DefaultFormatforTemplatesletsyouchoosewhethertoopendesignsfromtheTemplateGalleryintheUSorMetricpageformat.

AutosaveDocumentsdefineshowfrequentlytheprogramshouldautomaticallysaveacopyofyourdocument.Thisbackupcopyislocatedinthesamefolderwherethedocumentis.Whenyouchangetheautosavinginterval,itgoesintoeffectafterthepreviouslysetintervalisup.Toapplythenewintervalimmediately,restarttheprogram.

MeasurementUnitsdefinesunitsforallsizeandpositioningcontrolsintheprogram.Thisoptionsetsupthedefaultmeasurementunitsfornewdocuments.UsetheInspectortochangethemeasurementunitsinanopendocument.

TheTIFFformatgivesahigherimagequalitycomparedtoJPEG.ThedisadvantagetoTIFFisthatittakeslongertoexportyourdocument,andTIFFfilescanbelargeratthesameresolution.

JPEGcanbeusedforpictures,butnotalwaysfortext,tablesandgraphicswiththinlines.UseJPEGwhenyouwanttomakealower-qualitypreviewofyourdocument,senditbye-mail,orplaceitonawebsite.

Inmostcases,thePDFformatisthebest.PDFfilesaresmallenoughduetoefficientcompression.Thisformatisoptimalfordocumentscombiningtextandgraphics.PDFfilescancontaindatainavectorformat.UnlikeTIFFandJPEG,aPDFfilecancontainamulti-pagedocument.

ExportingtoPDFandEPSwithCMYKColors

Unliketheothersupportedformats,PDFandEPSdon'tofferanoptiontoselectthecolormodel.TheprogramretainstheoriginalcolorsofobjectswhenitcreatesaPDForEPSfile.Thismeansthatyouneedtothinkaboutthecolormodelfromthebeginningofyourworkonanewdocument.

APDFfileisconsideredtobeintheCMYKcolorspaceifallobjectsinitareCMYK.IfyouuseRGBandCMYKobjectsinthesamedocumenttogether,graphicsoftwarewouldrecognizetheexportedfileasRGB.

ApurelyCMYKmusthaveallobjectcolorpropertiesselectedusingtheCMYKSlidersinthestandardColorspane.Forexample,atextobjectshouldhaveCMYKcolorsselectedforthetextitself,textboxframeandtextboxbackground.

Eachlayerisanisolatedspacewhereyoucanplaceobjects.Layersarestackedinstructure.Onecanimaginelayersastransparentsheetsplacedoneatopofanother.Youcanseethroughtheemptyareaofanupperlayerandseetheobjectsonthelowerlayer.
