Training for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)Jakarta, 25 March 2015
The last 10 years :1. Maintain high economic growth at 4.5 – 6.5%2. Reduce poverty rate from 16.6% in 2004 to 11.25% in 20133. Reduce unemployment from 9.8% in 2004 to 5.7% in 2013
Challenges remain :a. The absolute number of poo is still large and inequality is a bit
raisingb. An accelerated economic growth is needed but will put
more burden to natural resources and environmentc. Growth and people’s activities has had little regard for the
impact on our ecosystem

No country can achieve SDGs on its own
Three major challenges:
1. Making the SDGs Easy to Communicate
2. Monitoring Framework for the Goals
3. Financing the SDGs
18
Looking Forward1. SDGs needs much more stakeholder engagement framework
o Working mechanism at all levels
o Division of labor among stakeholders
2. SDGs needs integrated monitoring framework
o Data collection system
o Open-accessible data
3. SDGs needs financing framework
o Government budget: Medium-long term expenditure framework for SDGs
o Government budget: SDGs Endowment Fund
