Background of Research

In recent Past Pakistan has been victim of severe power shortage which has resulted in heavy load shedding. Reasons said to be as following,.

Poor Future Planning. Increasing demand in recent years but no increase in supply. No new projects in last 10 years. High petroleum prices to some extent.

Objectives of Research

To determine how and to which extent load shedding has affected Life.

To determine actions taken in response of Load shedding.

To find out solutions which people are ready to take at personal level.

Demographic Section

65 % Female and 35% Male. More than 80% were below 25 in age. Majority of Correspondents belonged to below 3000 and 3000-8000 category. 70% correspondents were Student, 21 % were Job holders, rest were from business and household category.

Recommendations

Government should facilitate people who are ready to take solutions at personal level by providing them technical guidance and by announcing incentives for them.

Government and Power supply authorities should schedule load shedding hours in such a way that it affects consumer least.
