What colour scheme would best suit the magazine?

1)This question asks what the colour scheme should be for the music magazine I am creating. Now, as you can see, there is clearly a preference towards the colour scheme of Red/White/Black and Yellow. As there was no competition here, I will make sure to have this as my colour scheme, as out of 5 options, 56% (14) wanted this.

What would you want the masthead to be?

2) This one was asking what the masthead for my music magazine should be. Again, a clear trend is shown for this one. 60% of people, (15) wanted “3Lectrock!”. This was no competition and barely anyone wanted the others, so due to these results, I will continue with my original choice of “3Lectrock!”.

How old are you?

3) This question basically asked how old they were. Most of my audience, as shown by the results, were aged between 16-30. As, 28% were 16-20 and 21-25, followed by 20% who were aged between 26-30. So I will be aiming my magazine at young adults/Teenagers so I will include things to appeal to this target audience.

What is your gender?

4) This question asks simply for one's gender. My audience is predominantly male, as 60% (15) who answered are male and only 28% (7) were female. This shows that I should aim my magazine at a male audience. Luckily, this links in with my colour scheme as it is a masculine colour scheme, and I will aim my magazine at males.

What would you like to see on the front cover?

5) This question asked what I should put on my front cover. Most people, being 44% (11) of people, wanted to see a famous band on the cover. This means I will put a famous band on the cover of my magazine. However, some wanted to see an interview with a specific person (that being 24%, 6 people) so I will emphasise that person on the cover to please a wider audience.

What fonts would you like me to use?

6) Most people, being 36% (9) either way, wanted me to use Arial, and the same amount wanted me to use Balloonist SF. This shows me that I should use a mixture of the two, such as, one on my double page, the other on my contents. However, 16% (4) wanted to see Blackout STD, so I will use this very rarely to appeal to a wider audience.

What content would you like to see on my double page spread?

7) This question asked what I should put on my double page spread, this is so I know what articles to use. Most of the people wanted to see an interview with the band (that being 40%, 10 people) So I will put that in. However, in the interview I can also put in a guitar review, 32% (8) people wanted to see this, so by doing this i’ll be pleasing a much wider audience.

What articles would you like to see?

8) This question was for what articles the audience would like to see (Not on my double page spread, just in general) Most people (being 44%, 11 people) wanted to see a Close Up of a guitar, which I was planning on amalgamating into my double page spread article so that is already taken care of. Another 32%, 8 people, wanted to see an article about the state of rock culture, so I will be sure to include that on my contents page.
