Alleluia! Happy Easter & Divine Mercy Sunday!

They all thought Jesus was dead forever! April Fools!

He has risen from the dead! This is the day the Lord

has made, so let us rejoice and be glad! The Resurrec-

tion of Jesus really happened. Not many people want

to believe that a person can rise from the dead. Even

more people do not want to believe that Jesus rose

from the dead, but he did.

Last week I wrote about our pregnant cat that gave

birth on Easter Sunday, but my siblings and I could

not find the litter. We were like the disciples on that

first Easter morning. Even though we could not find

them we believed they were alive. So we kept our

eyes and ears open all week. About three days later

we saw our cat on the porch. She was licking herself

as cats do. When she saw us she ran into the barn.

We followed her. She climbed up into the loft. We

continued to follow her. In the dark of the loft we

heard little kittens meowing for their mommy. They

were hungry and she came back to feed them. We

waited of our eyes to adjust and saw them. Our belief

that they were alive came true! Just like the disciples

a little after the empty tomb they saw the reason Lord.

Their belief became a certainty!

There’s more to the Resurrection than an empty tomb

and seeing Jesus. I’ll share more about the cat next

week. Until then, have a happy Easter and Divine

Mercy Sunday! Alleluia

Domingo de Pascua

¡Aleluya! ¡Feliz Pascua y Divino Domingo de Miseri-

cordia! ¡Todos pensaban que Jesús había muerto para

siempre! ¡Día de los Inocentes! ¡Él ha resucitado de

entre los muertos! Este es el día que el Señor lo ha

hecho, ¡así que regocíjense y estén contentos! La Resur-

rección de Jesús realmente sucedió. No muchas per-

sonas quieren creer que una persona puede levantarse

de entre los muertos. Aún más personas no quieren

creer que Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos, pero lo

hizo.

La semana pasada escribí sobre nuestra gata preñada

que dio a luz el domingo de Pascua, pero mis hermanos

y yo no pudimos encontrar la camada. Éramos como los

discípulos en esa primera mañana de Pascua. Aunque

no pudimos encontrarlos, creímos que estaban vivos.

Así que mantuvimos nuestros ojos y oídos abiertos toda

la semana. Unos tres días más tarde vimos a nuestra

gata en el porche. Ella se estaba lamiendo a ella misma

como lo hacen los gatos. Cuando ella nos vio, corrió al

granero. La seguimos. Ella subió al desván. Continua-

mos siguiéndola. En la oscuridad del desván escu-

chamos pequeños gatitos maullando por su mamá.

Tenían hambre y ella regresó para alimentarlos. Espera-

mos que nuestros ojos se acostumbraran y los vimos.

¡Nuestra creencia de que estaban vivos se hizo realidad!

Al igual que los discípulos un poco después de la tumba

vacía, vieron la razón. El Señor. ¡Su creencia se convir-

tió en una certeza!

Hay más en la Resurrección que una tumba vacía y ver

a Jesús. Compartiré más sobre el gato la próxima sema-

na. Hasta entonces, ¡ten un feliz Domingo de Pascua y

de Divina Misericordia! Aleluya

What in the world is a Bike Rodeo?

On April 28, as a part of the Children’s Day Festivities, we will have a Bike Safety Rodeo. If you have not heard

of a Bike Rodeo, it is a practical method of teaching your child safe practices when riding a bike on the street.

The Washington County Sheriff Department will provide instructions and an opportunity for your child to prac-

tice maneuvers and safe riding. We will also have Bike Helmets available with people to ensure that your child’s

helmet will fit properly. There will be a charge of $10 if you want a helmet for your child. If you would like to

participate in this activity, please contact Sally Perry (503) 649 0678. We need to be sure we have enough

helmets for all the children who will be there. On the day of the Bike Rodeo, your child should come with the

bike they normally will be riding. Please join us for this activity that will help to keep your child safe.

Que es un Rodeo en Bicicleta?

El 28 de abril, como parte de las Fiestas del Día del Niño, tendremos un rodeo de seguridad para bicicletas. Si no

ha oído hablar de un Rodeo en Bicicleta, es un método práctico para enseñar a su hijo las prácticas seguras al
