Dear Parishioners,
Today`s Gospel is about gratitude. Some say that gratitude is the
most rare flower in the garden. If we feeling chronically dissatis-
fied, greedy, entitled or jealous, we may want to try being thankful.
Gratitude helps us to accept our life as a gift. It enhances satisfac-
tion. It allows to appreciate and accept our lives and others.
Gratitude is grounded in God`s love for us. But, God doesn`t need
our thanks. Nonetheless, He does call on us to give thanks. St Paul
tells us that we should be filled with the Spirit “ always giving
thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to
God” (Eph 5:20) He also tell us to “ Rejoice always; pray without
ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God`s will for you in
Christ Jesus” (1 Thess. 5:16-18).
90% of those cured in the Gospel were not grateful. Only 1 was.
The leper who was cured in the Gospel fulfilled all the above con-
ditions:
_ Recognition: one of them, realizing he had been healed.
Appreciation: returned, glorifying, God in a loud voice.
- Retribution: he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him.
Are we part of the 90% or 10% ?
God bless you always.

“ Now is the time to abandon our dependence on
fossil fuels and move quickly and decisively, toward forms of clean energy.” Pope Francis. We are happy to share that we were presented with a wonderful opportunity. We have decided to partner with Trinity Solar through their Stewardship pro-gram. Trinity`s program offers us a way to raise money by educating our parishioners on the benefits of solar. It is simple, all we ask is for you to sign up for a solar consultation to see if you qualify for this program. By doing this you will learn how you can save money on your utility bill, help the church raise funds and have a positive impact on the environment. Please go to www.gotrinitysolar.com/sjrc to see if you qualify. For more information, call 1-800-655-2500 and make sure to mention St. James Roman Catholic Church.
