Summer 2021...............................................
WE ARE BACK ON STAGE FROM 20 MAY!
What a year it has been. The theatre has been closed to audiences but we have been very busy behind the scenes – we have been converted to a food bank distribution centre, then back to a theatre, followed by a covid symptom free test centre and now finally we return to being a theatre.
We have worked really hard to make sure the theatre is safe. We have beenindependently audited and have a robust risk assessment, have been awarded the “See it Safely” mark from UK Theatre and “Good to Go” from Visit Kent – so we really are a covid safe venue and want to make your visit as safe and stress free as possible. As part of our covid policies you can also book without cause for concern because if you cannot come for any covid related reason we will give you your money back – no questions asked.
The impact of covid on our finances cannot be underestimated and we really need our audiences to support us now more than ever. You can do this by making apersonal pledge to come to live arts once a month, buy theatre tickets instead of atake-away for your family or join our brilliant new membership scheme “Circle”. We hope that we will have loads of great entertainment to whet your appetite in this brochure but remember the earlier you book the better the seats and the lower the prices. Leave it too late and you will miss out on the lowest priced tickets.
Also we are introducing amazing monthly cabaret nights – so if you are looking for a great night out with the girls (or the lads), with snacks, food and drinks onoffer then cabaret might be right up your street.
Our new award winning partners Evolution Productions will present Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs this Christmas, and we are so lookingforward to welcoming back our family and younger audiences to thetradition of panto. If you have never been before then this is the yearto start your family tradition.
The times before have been dark so please join us, visit us and make sure we can bring some light and joy back to our town and borough through live arts and nights out.
I hope we will see you very soon.

Celebrating the centenary of the birth of the greatest singer of the 20th century –it’s the swing, the swagger and the velvet vocals of Sinatra in concert
Direct from Las Vegas, the iconic music of Frank Sinatra is brought to life once again HIS WAY. Featuring the swing, the swagger and the velvet vocals of Frank Sinatra in concert,
enjoy a not-to-be-missed evening with world renowned vocalist David Alacey.
Widely regarded as one of the leading interpreters of Sinatra’s music in the world, Alacey has starred as Frank for over twenty years both in his own solo concerts and as part of the Award
Winning Rat Pack cast. His recording of The Theme From New York New York for Atari games was described as “Too Close for Comfort to the original recording” by The Sinatra
Estate and his unique portrayal of Ol’ Blue Eyes has been commended by many of Sinatra’s closest friends including the legendary Vegas star Buddy Greco, who stated that “DavidAlacey really is Sinatra! It’s frightening”. He not only walks the walk, he talks the talk, and
gives a masterful performance of delicious vocals delivered with consummate ease.
Fly Me to the Moon, Mack the Knife, New York, New York, My Way, That’s Life, Under My Skin, Lady is a Tramp, My Kind of Town, All the Way and Come Fly With Me delight
spellbound audiences. Backed by the fantastic sound of big band swing, Alacey is frankly the best thing since Sinatra himself.
“David Alacey not only looked like Frank but he had the drawl, the wit andboy could he nail a tune. The whole thing was a triumph and while we may
never see such greats as Frank, Dean and Sammy again in our lifetime but thegood news is that as long as such talented impersonators continue to exist, we may
not need to”.

CLASSICAL
Taking centre-stage for this summer matinee performance are the astounding wind players of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, with an exquisite selection of pieces.
The different instruments of the wind section provide an enormous variety of sonorities, making for some glorious combinations and sound-worlds. The performance begins by
showcasing some of Mozart’s most masterful writing in his popular Serenade No.12 and also includes Mendelssohn’s Konzertstück No.2, which celebrates the clarinet’s rich tones and
wide range. Dvořák even manages to sneak a couple of string players into the ensemble for his Wind Serenade. This captivating piece combines rustic Czech folk elements with
marches, dances and a sprightly finale.

“An excellent show, really capturing the essence of the Quo I played with for 13 odd years – the attention to detail was awesome!”
MATT LETLEY - Status Quo drummer 2000-2013
‘The Quo Experience’ is an East Anglian based band including David ‘Woody’ Wood as Francis Rossi and Dave Crawte as Rick Parfitt; both have spent years studying every detail of Rossi and Parfitt’s looks, playing styles and stage performances to make sure they are both as close to the real thing on stage as is possible, without actually being the legendary rock
duo themselves! However, The Quo Experience is not all about Rick and Francis, it also fea-tures Graham Partridge, a superb keyboard player who captures the magic of Andy Bown’s playing and vocals perfectly; Richard ‘Spud’ Spooner on bass and Ian ‘Jasper’ Woodthorpe
on drums, who both help give The Quo Experience the stomach thumpingsound and feel that every Quo Army fan expects!
