NEW HOUSEPARENTSWe thank Carrie and Nathan Hoffman who have served as house parents at Happy Haven for the past three years. They have been parents to about 13 different girls during that time. We thank them for their service and wish them and Lillian well in their new home.

Angela and Matt Suggs have now joined us to work with us as house parents at Happy Haven and live in the “Gainesboro” house. Matt has a B.S. from Tennessee Tech University and is the youth minister at the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Angela has a B.S. from Tennessee Tech University. She has extensive experience teaching classes in Tuesday and Thursday school. Angela, Matt, and their sons Ethan and Eli worship at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ.

We would still like to consider additional applications for house parents to join the Suggs and the Lewises here at Happy Haven. We have a 3rd house available for occupancy. NEW BOARD MEMBERSOur Happy Haven board recently added Jimmy Anderson who is an elder at the McCoinsville Church of Christ and Brian Trisdale who is the treasurer and a member at the Center Grove Church of Christ. We welcome them both.

TWO NEW VANS No, you aren’t seeing double!! Happy Haven recently purchased TWO 2012 Ford E-350’s. The photo here shows our Happy Haven families (the Lewis family and the Suggs family) all enjoying their new set of wheels! And aren’t these beautiful vans? We were able to purchases these twelve-passenger vans because of your generosity at our Celebration Banquet in April and other generous donations. As one of our board members observed, “We need to provide safe, reliable transportation for our house parents and children.” As you can see, our house parents and all the children are really enjoying them. As we continue to grow, we certainly want to have transportation that is appropriate to our needs here. Thank you again, our supporting churches and individuals, for your generosity in helping make the van purchases possible.

Don Bybee has been a huge part of our recent update of the upstairs at House 1. He has volunteered over 250 hours of work rebuilding cabinets; painting cabinets, walls, and celings; putting up crown mold and trim; working on the bathroom floors and helping with many other details. Don has also helped us previously with work at House 2. Don is a member of the Fairview Church of Christ. We salute you, Don, for sharing your experience and your willing spirit with Happy Haven.
