SUMMARY

Sudbury Contact Mines Ltd. is involved in the exploration of a large group of daims in McEboy township of the Larder Lake Mining Division cafled the "McEhoy Property". The property area totals 11 dawns, 78 daim units and approximately 3000 acres. The

exploration projects carried out are oriented towards damonds and gold.

Since Sudbury Contact Mines Ltd. acquired the rights to the above stated daims through staking, two Reverse Circulation drttng program have been executed on the property. A total of six holes were drifted, from north to south along the eastern portion of the daims.

Results indicate a widespread concentration of kimberlite indicator minerals across the most of the property. As many as 28 pyrope garnets were recovered from one til sample.

Gold grain counts hxfcate that no proximal or distal gold sources are present on the eastern portion of the property.

INTRODUCTION

The McBroy Property is comprised of 11 daims totalling 3000 acres in McEtroy Township.

These daims form part of a daim block assembled by Sudbury Contact Mines Ud. in Gauthier, McVMie, McBroy, Katrine, Arnold ft Hearst Townships, of the Larder Lake MNng Division, in northeastern Ontario.

From 1986 to 1991, exploration programs in these townships focused on known auriferous targets along the Larder Lake Break, as weH as identifying new targets along other structures for drill testing. These programs uHzed the extensive data base acquired by Sudbury Contact Mines Ltd. in the Larder Lake gold camp since 1972.

By 1987, Sudbury Contact had aquired the "Diamond Lake Properties", which were known to host gravel deposits containing (amberite float boulders. By 1989, a kimberfite dyke discovery was made by Reverse Circulation driffing on the Diamond Lake Option (Skead Holdings Inc.) in Mcvittie Township. The olscovery was later confirmed by diamond dr*ng. In 1990, diamond drMng discovered a kimberlite pipe f Diamond Lake Pipe #1") on this same property. This dfecovery led Sudbury Contact to acquire the surrounding lands, and initiate a reconnaissance gold and diamond exploration strategy.

Six reconnaissance Reverse Circulation holes were driHed on the McBroy daims during the summer of 1993 and writer of 1995. This report describes the results of the summer of 1993 Reverse Circulation drilling program.

Samples were taken of til and gravel material, as well as some glaciofluvial sand. Processing to recover sand and sit size gold and (amberite indicator minerals from these samples was done by Overburden DriMng Management

The coordination and implementation of the various technical tasks was conducted by W. A. Hubacheck Consultants Ltd. under the supervision of P. Hubacheck. D. Christie and D. Jamieson.

REGIONAL GEOLOGY

The area is dominated by the McEkoy, Larder Lake and Hearst Assemblages.

The McEkoy assemblage is dominated by massive mafic volcanic flows with minor felsic fragmental units. Medium to coarse-grained hornblende gabbro, gabbro, leuoogabbro and plagiodase-glomoporphyritic gabbro are intimately associated with the fine to medwm-grained mafic flows. The McBroy assemblage is tfsfinct from the Larder Lake assemblage in the lack of piKowed flows and a distinct contact marked by the LJncoln- Nipissing shear zone and peridotite and Manor shear zone(Jackson and Fyon, 1991).

The Larder Lake assemblage is comprised of massive to plowed tholeiitic basalt, komatiite basalt and ultramafic komatiite (Jensen 1985). The assemblage is intruded by numerous smal bodes of quartz and quartz-felspar porphyry as wel as larger syenite bodies such as the McEkoy stock. Metasedvnentary rocks in the area are interpreted to be in structural urrarnformity with the Larder Lake assemblage and are recognized as the Hearst assemblage(Jackson and Fyon 1991)

The Hearst assemblage is comprised of resedimented turbidrtes and matrix- supported conglomerates that are spatially associated with metavolcanic rocks of the Larder Lake assemblage. Conglomerate dasts include green mica-bearing komatiite, rhyolite, chert, iron formation and carbonate fragments(Jensem 1985). The relationship between the Heart and Timiskaming sedimentary assemblages is still a matter of debate.

Intrusives related to the McEboy stock range from pkik massive granites and syenite to black gabbro, hornblendite and pyroxenite.

The Larder Lake Break trends across the north part of the area, typified by a wide zone of moderate to highly strained Timiskaming and Larder Lake assemblage rocks. Archaean lode gold and silver deposits occur along the Larder Lake Break and related structures.

REVERSE CIRCULATION DRILLING

METHODOLOGY

The following figures help to iustrate the methodology of the Reverse Circulation Doling technique. The purpose of samping certain glacial materials is to locate the portions of ore-bodies that have been eroded by glaciation and tfstributed in a "train" down-ice of the ore-body.

Glacial action has reduced much of the material to sand and sift size, and it is grains of this size fraction which are examined in a laboratory for gold, sulphides and other minerals indicative of potentiaBy economic deposits. Coarser material (gravel size and boulder chip material) can be examined and described at the dri by a geologist

Case histories, Quaternary geological studtes, and glacial studies all provide a data base which can be used to interpret the mineralogical results from a reverse circulation drilling program.

The most important material to sample during a reverse circulation program is commonly termed till. TiH is poorly sorted debris which in most situations has travelled directly down-ice along the bottom of the glacier and has been smeared along bedrock surfaces, fiMng depressions and vafleys. Basal til is the til lying drectiy on bedrock. Minerals found in this type of material can, theoreticaly, be traced by their relative abundance and morphology directly back up-ice to their source.

Unfortunately, tM can be reworked or redeposited by water as wel as rafted by ice flows, and caused to flow along pateoslopes. causing misinterpretations. Thus a large database is important for defining patterns based on numerous data points rather than single "spot highs".

In addition to glacial material, chips of bedrock are obtained at each dnH hole location, making this a valuable mapping/prospecting tool in areas of poor bedrock exposure.

TOPOGRAPHY

The property is covered by outwash sands. Glaciolaucustrine days and silts overlay esker sands and gravels in topographic low areas.

SAMPLING RESULTS

A brief description of hole stratigraphy is given below. In general, only material interpreted to be til or esker gravel were sampled during this program. Material weights and grain counts irxfcate the amount of sample processed and subsequent recovery of gold and kimberlite indKator mineral grains. Several consecutive samples may be included in these numbers. Indrvidual sample results are found hi the RC drill log and processing data sheet appendices.

MLO93-1

A 2.5 metre thickness of stoney tin occurs beneath 3.5 metres of sand and day. Three round gold grains were recovered from 7.4 kg of material in two samples, indicating background gold grain levels. A total of 17 pyropes and 8 chrome diopsides were recovered (3.4 KIM's/kg of sample), mainly from the basal sample, indicating the presence of a strong kimberlite indicaticr mineral dispersal train in this area.

MLO93-2

A 1.5 metre thickness of stoney till was intersected beneath 30 metres of fine sand, silt and day. One round gold grain was recovered from 9.3 kg of material in one sample, indicating background gold grain levels. Galena grains were also recovered from this sample. Twenty-four pyropes, 5 chrome diopsides, one chromite and 5 ilmentes were recovered (3.8 KIM's/kg of material), similiar to results in MLO93-1.

MLO93-3

A 0.3 metre thickness of gravel occurs beneath 18.5 metres of day, silt and fine sand. Two round gold grains were recovered from 2.8 kg of material, indicating background gold levels. Three pyropes. three orange garnets, two chrome diopsides, one ilmenite, and one chromite were recovered. This would appear to be a background, distal population derived from glaciofluvial material.

Page 16: SUMMARY REPORT ON THE 1993 REVERSE CIRCULATION … · Diamond and R.C. Drilling: Heath and Sherwood Driing Kirkland Lake, Ontario Mneral Processing: Senior Geologist Project Geologist

14

A 3.0 metre thickness of debris flow/partially reworked tin was intersected beneath 44 metres of fine to coarse grained glaciofluvial sand and moderately sorted pea gravels. One round gold grain was recovered from 8.3 kg of material. Twenty-eight pyropes, three chrome diopsKJes, seven orange garnets, and one flmenite were recovered (4.8 KIM's/kg of material). A large number of coarse pyropes (0.5-1 .Omm) were recovered from the debris flow/till, possUy due to the coarse-grained nature of the sample.

W.A. HUBACHECK CONSULTANTS LTD.

Page 17: SUMMARY REPORT ON THE 1993 REVERSE CIRCULATION … · Diamond and R.C. Drilling: Heath and Sherwood Driing Kirkland Lake, Ontario Mneral Processing: Senior Geologist Project Geologist

15

CONCLUSIONS

1. Total kimberlite indicator mineral counts are generally high from all samples, ranging from 1 to 5 grains per kflogram of material sampled. Pyropes/chrome diopside ratio is approximately 3:1 and is relatively consistent among samples and across the property. Orange garnet, imenrte, and chromite grain counts are generaly low.

3. No gold grain sources are indicated.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Further Reverse Circulation drffing should be done on the north and western portions of the property on a reconnaissance basis.
