Two Parts• Every sentence has two parts; the
subject and the predicate.
The Subject• The complete subject, are all the
words that tell whom or what the sentence is about.
The Predicate• The complete predicate are all the
words that tell what the subject does or did or what the subject is or was. It is the part of the sentence that usually follows the subject
Identify the Subject and the Predicate
• To determine the subject of a sentence, first find the verb and then make a question by placing "who?" or "what?" before it -- the answer is the subject.
