Style Guide OverviewTo help Scotch College Adelaide achieve a strong and consistent visual image, a cohesive identity system has been developed to reflect the forward thinking, legacy of excellence and historic character of the College.

These guidelines do not limit creativity, but instead provide a standard designed to ensure consistency in the use of the Scotch College branding across all marketing and communications plans and materials.

Each time Scotch communicates with its audiences, we have an opportunity to strengthen public awareness of our unique character and mission.

A strong and consistent visual identity helps shape the way our audiences view Scotch College, now and in the future. Consistency in the way these icons are presented is important for our thriving institution to continue its growth in quality and stature. Our goal is to send positive impressions and messages to the public that will strengthen our reputation and will assist in attracting great faculty members, staff, students, donors and friends

We hope you share our enthusiasm about this direction for the College and we thank you in advance for your support.

Primary LogoThe logo is the primary visual symbol of Scotch College Adelaide.

The official logo consists of the Scotch College Shield, the name of the college boldy inscribed in a blue container, followed by “Adelaide” underneath.

An official logo should be placed on all Scotch communications, marketing, presentations, printed pieces, advertising and any other materials that represent the college.

The logo should only be used in the accepted forms below and should not be manipulated in any way.

This includes but is not limited to using surrounding boxes, shadows and embellishments, warping aspect ratios or adding additional sub-headings without prior approval.

One School BrandingThe ‘one school’ insignia is an accent graphic and should not take the place of the official primary logo - the ‘one school’ insignia should ONLY be used in conjunction with the Scotch College Adelaide primary logo.

As such, the ‘one school’ insignia should always be used as intended, featuring the word ‘one’ in the approved typeface, accompanied underneath by a subheading using the approved typeface.

Incorrect UseThe examples below represent unacceptable uses or alterations to the Scotch College Adelaide primary logo.

Please note that the following examples apply to all Scotch College logos and should be avoided at all times.

Effects such as 3D, drop shadows, outer glow or strokes should not be applied to Scotch brand marks.

The colours of the Scotch logo must not be altered in any way (see color palette details within this guide).

Do not alter the orientation of the Scotch official logo’s elements.

Do not alter the orientation of the Rampant Lion or alter the detail of the insignia in any way.

Do not alter or distort the dimensions or aspect ratio of the Scotch branding in any way.
