Studying is of vital importance when wanting to be successful; but studying is no trip in the park. Following this slide is an acrostic poem for the word ‘STUDY’ and goes through some necessary parts of study. Enjoy!

• Studiousness: studying isn’t easy. You need to put in the hard yards in order to be successful with your studies. Being studious is being able to do anything for your school work. You might even have to sacrifice activities that you want such as a football match.

• Time: in order to study successfully, you need time. The amount of homework you get varies, but you should be able to dedicate an hour to extra schoolwork every day. This also includes the holidays.

• Utilise: be sure to utilise and manipulate the studies around you. For example, use your computers/laptops for research and if you have some spare scrap paper, create flash cards for mathematics, languages and other subjects that require you to memorise material.

• Delve: don’t be afraid to delve and explore for alternate ways to study. If your friend suggests a new and cool way to study, embrace it and don’t reject it. It could be a new way to master your studies!

• Your summary notes: summary notes are an absolute vitality when wanting to study successfully. Be sure to create study notes for every subject you do, at least once a week. This will keep you on top of the material learnt and will also be a way of revising. Make sure these summary notes are neat and organised so you can find units of work easily.
