The visual quality and lighting comfort is a topic that is already discussed considering the harmony of the built environment. But it is also necessary to take it into account in order to:+ Detect the light pollution caused by signals, vehicles or other elements (including advertising).+ Check the existing lux levels in natural and urban areas or the different architectures we have to deal with during the day.+ Restore the lux levels according to the appropriate uses within the urban / natural areas.+ Set up the “black frames“ in the environmental strategy, reducing also the energy consumption.

SONOMETER

The sound quality is a key issue because it affects the livability of a place, but it also helps in the “subjective” apprehension of the milieu. The sound may be generating conflicts in common life.+ Detection of noise pollution “breaking” the urban space: decibels from vehicles such as airplanes, trains, lorries, buses and cars.+ Sound “unwellness“ survey near major traffic axes / air corridors / railways.+ Inter-neighborhood conflicts in high-density districts (suburban or collective housing).+ Noise from construction sites.+ Natural noises (forests, rivers, lanscape or agricultural areas).

Ces études nous permettent de :+ Cartographier l’usage spatio-temporel des espaces urbains existants.+ Cartographier et proposer des agencements pour l’usage des espaces urbains de façon raisonnée et connectée à la vie quotidienne pendant toutes les heures de la journée / semaine / weekend / saison/ événements.

La qualité visuelle et confort lumineux est un sujet qui est abordé du point du vue de l’harmonie du bâti. MOBI-METER

The Chrono-Urbanism is a study of the city based on Chronotopie and the Rhythmanalysis. The mobi-meter is the tool of rhythmanalysis (Lefebvre) that allows us to:+ Map all the elements and rhythms found in the urban and natural environments, in particular, those who are specific to the human body and the city.+ Map and measure the elements and the rhythms based on their intensity, speed and frequency.+ Map and classify the rhythms compared to each other.+ Diagnose the existing “urban diseases “ in the urban and natural milieus.+ Develop a strategy to “restore” or re-generate the rhythms that allow co-existence.

MICROPHONE

Interview of city’s actors / spectators in order to obtain a variety of subjective interpretations of the milieu. The interviews are carried out:+ At decision-making level.+ At participative level.+ At the level of the neighborhood‘s committee.+ At the level of the local resident.+ At the level of organizations with which the city should interact.+ At the level of people who are involved in the management, maintenance,taking-care, daily life in the city.

Reflective and inclinated facade: designed in order to reflect the sunlight and the heat. The mirror-effect intergrates the building into the desert landscape. At the same time, the inversed tilt serves to reduce friction between the facade and the sand in case of storms.

Façade réfléchissante et inclinée : sa fonction est de renvoyer la lumière et la chaleur, quand l’inclinaison inversée empêche au sable d’adhérer à la paroi. D’autre part, cette façade miroitante s’intégre à ce paysage inhabité.
