    WORDS FROM THE EDITOR TEAM

First of all, thanks for reading this publication, as the editors we are very pleased to see this

work done. This is the first time that we get to make our own Newspaper, a newspaper by students

and for students. At this point it is quite clear that there are lots of room for improvement, but as weget used to doing something like this, the quality will become better. It is also very nice to see so

many students interested in helping out and we express our sincerest gratitude to every one of them,

Thyme Yr. 9, Max Yr. 9, Piam Yr. 8, Ing Yr.8, Paul Yr. 10, Sonia Yr. 10 and Ping Yr. 10. All of

you will receive a certificate acknowledging your enthusiasm in participating with the council.

You might notice that at this point we only have secondary students helping us out,

therefore, if any of the primary students would like to help in the writing or even drawing, you are

free to contact us through the councils Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/sisbstudents).

If you have any comments, again, the Facebook is always there for you, in this page you are

free to give comments and we will took serious consideration on those comments.

As you see, we have the teachers/ students of the month award, for this we will look at their

achievements over the month, but actually we would like to base our decision mainly on the

students opinion, so, if you have any teachers or students in mind, you can cast your votes on our

    page.

And for next week we are doing the top three best events ever hosted in our schools, and

again we want to base the decision on the vote, so dont forget to leave your legacy on our

    Facebook page.

    Thanks all for reading

    WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT

Its a new academic year, and theschool is different, there are morestudents and teachers joining us. There

are even more new things going on inour school, can you spot them?

A few weeks ago, there was an exciting event that the Physical Education Department heldfor all the students in SISB. It was the 'Fun Sports Day'.

The Nursery and Kindergarten students played together while the Primary 1, 2 and 3 playedanother game. The Primary 4, 5 and 6 played on the next day and the Secondary played onthe same day but different time.

The event was an overall success because the students all had fun and enjoyed themselves. Aprimary student mentioned that the MC of the event, Ms. Elizabeth (the Secondary's PhysicalEducation teacher), did a very good narration throughout the event, raising the studentsmorale. Her quick voice over make the event very exciting, and we were thrilled by her fast-talking style, said primary student when asked to describe the event.

All the teams played well and gave all their best. This made the students look forward tomore of the fun activities held by the Physical Education Department.

    Comments on Party/Non-Uniform Day

On 31th of October, student council has been organized the

Halloween party after school for the secondary students. The party was

great and enjoyable. On top of that, the foods that provided from student

council were delightful and delectable. The party was perfect because

everyone there was participating and it was fabulous. However, for every

plus there is a minus, in my personal opinion, I would like to suggest that

the party should held on the day that everyone have a lot of free time

which is Friday because from what I have seen on the day, everyone were

rush in order to go home. In an alternative point of view, the party was

extremely hilarious and I really enjoyed the time with my friends and

even though it was for a short time, we were entertained. I really

appreciated from what all the student council did for us and I would like

to thank and I would like to have a party like this every year.

    [Ping Yr.10]

The non-uniform day was a very interesting school event which was

organized by the secondary student council on Thursday 31stof October.

The party was a blast although not everyone participated in it. Everyone

seems to enjoy this special event and there were activities in the party

which was surprising yet entertaining. Not to mention, the money from

this event will be donated to the student councils selected charity. This

means that not only can students have fun in this event but they can also

help the society! Hopefully more students would participate in this eventnext year!

ASEMBLY CRITIQUES by Ing Yr.8These past few weeks there were 5 assemblies held in total. Out of the 4, there

were 2 that I picked to talk about. Those 2 are completely different. The first one was an

adaptation of Shakespeare's classic 'Romeo X Juliet' by the Year 11. Instead of primarily

following the same story line, they changed the story into a hilarious play. What make

the show interesting was that it was very organized. Even though the jokes were very

simple, but the way they presented set us all laughing. The show gave us courage to try

making a play too! The second one I chose to talk about was a presentation about

'Humorous Histories' by the Year 9. A presentation should be boring, but the Year 9

didn't give impression of that word. The presentations were full of funny jokes and

stories that really had happened. They were very organized and they should havepractice a lot. That is why the assembly turns out to be really great.

As you could see, each class

has their own brilliant ideas on

how they want their 40 minutes to

be like. So, we are looking forward

    to see more interesting shows

    from the students!

    Information by Dr. Piyathida Jeungsmarn

Senior Nephrologist and InternalMedicine doctor (Parents)

People might say being a doctor is a comfortable job, well it is but its not what youll

expect, you see, lots of people said its comfortable, but the majority of them arent even

doctors. I am a doctor at a local hospital in Thailand, and to be quiet honest, its not really

that comfortable. In fact for the first few years, it is quite tiring, because you have to work

all the time, the patiences life depends on it. The comfortable factor is that, as soon as you

get out of university, you dont actually have to put much effort

in to find a job. Doctor is something we will always need and

there is an extremely low chance of job vacancies among

doctors. The most difficult part of a doctors life? Frankly

speaking, its when youre studying. I spent nine years of my

life studying as a doctor. You started with studying medical

science for the first few years, and then you continued into

whatever fields you want to be in, Surgeon, Nephrology,

Pediatrician, dermatologist or proctologist. These are just few

branches of medical study, no wonder some took 12 years to

study. For IGCSE, you should choose pure science, which is the most accurate pathway if

you would like to be a doctor. Despite all the hard works, the great thing about being a

doctor is that you get good pay while saving lives every day, and thats your job, except you

want to do plastic surgery of course. But whatever doctor you are, youll usually end up

    leading quite a good life.

A First Hand Account of a Doctor

    Despite his seemingly strong look,

    this primary English teacher has

proved to be very kind. Moreover,

you could see that he dedicated

himself to making his class fun

overcoming his look! And the fact

that he never hesitates to dance ormake faces in front of people landed

    him on second place.

There is a reason why students love

physics despite how boring it is,

well, T. Mac being the Physics

    teacher has bring many laughter

into the class. Its hard to explain

his humorthey are the funniestunfunny jokes youll probably ever

    heard.

    A secondary Geography teacher

from France, T. Philippe is not only

well regarded for his tidiness and

intelligence in many fields but also

his sense of humor. You cant deny

that he is one of the few teachers

that could drop jokes between the

lines as he teaches. His trademark

accent and his crude but funny joke

earned him the top spot on this list.

A HAPPY Birthday by Piam Yr.8

    "Huh?"

"Yeah. I'm sorry, I need to go join some family event."

"Really? When you will be back?"

"Well, about 7 p.m. , I don't want you to wait for me. So, have fun and Happy Birthday!"

    "Ah...Thanks"

And her boyfriend hung up. She stared blankly at her cell phone, trying not to feel so

disappointed. She forced a smile thinking to herself that it is just one ordinary day. Anyway, sheshould go and make preparations, as her brother should be coming soon.

Not long, the house was then decorated with plenty decorations. There was a cake placed

on the table too. She sat down and smiled proudly to herself, her brother should be happy to see

    this.

    Ring!

However, his cell phone rang. The girl saw that her brother sent her a message. She

opened the message feeling both excited and anxious. But when she read the message, shefroze; the feeling of disappointment struck her hard.

'I'm really sorry! I totally forgot it was your birthday, what a bad memory I have! I

already made an appointment with my friends and everything is already confirmed. I can't

come, anyway... Happy Birthday!' She consoled herself, thinking at least her brother

remembered her birthday. She averted her gaze from her cell phone to the clock. 18:45; if she

go to her boyfriends condo now, by the time she arrives, he should be back and they could

spend a wonderful night celebrating her birthday.

And there she was, fiddling with her hands in front of her boyfriends room. What if he

hasnt arrived? What if there was a delay? All thoughts that discouraged her to opening the door

roamed her mind. At last she decided to open the door as quietly as possible. She found that it

was not locked, which meant that hes back! Excitement flowed through her as she sneaked a

    peek through the gap.

The only light source in the room is the lighten candles on a cake - a birthday cake to be

exact. The voices of two people blended in perfectly, singing the birthday song. One of the

owners of the voice is her boyfriend, another is a young girl; too young to be any of his cousins.

The girl closed the door gently so that it wouldnt disturb the couple in the room. She

could feel that liquid were overflowing from her eyes. Since there was no one around, she let it

out. The warm and wet liquid slid down her cheek. Everything was too much for her to handle

in one day, especially on a day that would come by only once a year. All her imaginations of a

happy day were destroyed by two precious people that cared nothing about her, no matter how

much she craved for their attention. If nobody wanted her, shell leave for the best. So she

wouldnt be a burden to anyone. Its a happy birthday for his new girl, apparently, to her, not so

    much.
