service Available only at certain hospitals Therefore, no specific organisational
structure
Operational units – transplantation Kidney transplantation – HKL, selayang Liver transplantation – selayang Heart transplantation – National Heart
Institute, Institute of Respiratory Medicine
Operational units – transplantation Cornea transplantation – available at all
hospitals with opthalmologist but mostly done at Sungai Buloh and HKL.
Bone marrow and haematopoeitic stem cell transplantation – HKL, Ampang, later in Penang
Bone grafts and skin transplantation – various hospitals
Operational units – support services Tissue Bank – HUSM Eye bank – Sungai Buloh, HKL, Tun
Hussein Onn Bone Bank – HKL Public Cord Blood Bank and National
Cord Blood/Bone Marrow Coordinating Centre – National Blood bank
RINGKASAN
Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia sedang melaksanakan Program Transplantasi Kebangsaan
Majlis Transplantasi Kebangsaan (National Transplantation Council) sebagai organisasi utama
