█ Raw material

To design a stone production line, basically, we should know the raw material. The photos below are the familiar raw material. █ Some common material for stone production

Granite Limestone River stone

Moh’s hardness ≈ 6-7 Moh’s hardness ≈ 3-4 Moh’s hardness ≈5-7

█ Moh’s scale of hardness

What is the hardness of stone? The different stone has different Moh’s hardness, for example, the Moh’s hardness of limestone is about 3, feldspar 6.5, quartz 7, Marble 3-4.4, granite 6-7, basalt 5-6 and so on. Sometimes, the stone is from the river, in normal circumstance, the river stone is very hard; of course, the hardness of the river stone is depends on the local actual condition. The higher hardness of the stone will reduce the production capacity.

█ The size of raw material

In the quarry, the mountain stone will be exploded by the detonator, so it is very important to use the appropriate explosives to obtain the stone size needed, in the raw material there is also some clay and scrap. If the volume of clay and scrap is big, you must adopt the vibrating feeder with bar grizzly to remove it, if the feeder is not enough, you must use a primary vibrating screen after the jaw crusher to clear out the scrap. Of course, the composition of the plant changes, the price will also changes. If the feed size of your stone is bigger for the primary crusher, you need to use the big model of the crusher, of course, the capacity of the big crusher will increase, and the cost of the bigger stone product line will also increase. If possible, the client can use the hydraulic hammer drill on excavator to control the size of raw material.

█ Final product

The client must know what is the size of the finished product they want, and how many sections of the finished product, for more kinds of the finished product, that means more layers of vibrating screen is needed, if the finished product is more than four sections, you must use two or more units of vibrating screen. Of course, this will increase the cost of the stone crushing plant. We can change the layer mesh size according to the clients’ requirements. The oversize product will return back to the crusher to be crushed. For example, if the passing through capacity of one set vibrating screen is 200 ton per hour, maybe only 150 TPH will be the final product, and the residual 50TPH will return to the crusher. If the product size you need is very small, the oversize quantity will be more than 50TPH, and you will need a tertiary crushing line with fine crushing machine. If the final requirement is sand which is about 10mm below, the client need to use the sand making machine. And if the required product is clean sand, the production line need to include the sand washer. All the final products will be mixed material, so the complete requirement should be size ranges with percentage. For example: 0-10mm: 30%, 10-13mm: 30%; 13-20mm: 40%; or 3/8’: 30%, 1/2’: 30%, 3/4’: 40%. The percentage should considering the output size of the crushers.

The client should know the usage of the final products. Because the client will choose the shape of the final product according to the usage. For example, if you want to use the product for road building, final product with cubical shape is better. Of course, the shape of the product is different from the different crushers; we will choose the machine according to your requirement.

█ Capacity & Investment

Generally speaking, the capacity of one stone production line could be 40-60TPH, 60-80 TPH, 80-100TPH, 100-120TPH, and 120-140TPH…700TPH. The capacity has a closer relation with the investment of the stone plant. Approximately, for every 20 tons of capacity increasing, you have to invest USD30000 more; this data is just for your reference.

The measurement of the capacity is very important. Generally we calculate by tons per hour. Firstly we measure it by weight, if the client offers the data by volume; you should also offer the density. For example, the bulk density of limestone is about 1.5 t/m3, the capacity required is 100 m3/h, that is to say, the capacity is about 150 tons per hour. Secondly we measure it by considering working hours. If the data is per month or per year, the client should also clarify how many working hours per day and how many working days per month or per year.

█ Stone production line composition:

Generally speaking, the stone production line is composed by hopper, vibrating feeder, jaw crusher, cone crusher, and impact crusher, vertical impact crusher, vibrating screen, sand washing machine and belt conveyor. █ The vibrating feeder is used to feed material into the machine gradually and continuously. █ Jaw crusher is mainly the primary crusher (PE series). Materials usually firstly fed into it for the

primary crushing. We also have secondary series (PEX and JCE series). In some occasion, PEX and JCE series can take the place of impact crusher or cone crusher.

█ Cone crusher or Impact crusher are mainly the secondary crushers. It can break stone into suitable and required size with good cubic size.

█ Vertical impact crusher is used in sand making field and it’s a shape correction machine. █ Vibrating screen is used for separating the product into different sections. █ Sand washing machinery is used for cleaning the final product. █ Belt conveyor It moves material between the machines and to the stock piles, the magnetic

iron catcher will clear out the iron in tche material, avoid the damaging of the crushers..

█ Structure of installation

Usually, there are three styles of installation structure; they are cement structure, steel structure, and mobile chassis structure. The client can choose the structure style according to the landform, cost and other conditions.
