Sub-Regional Feasibility Study • Recognizes  difficul3es  of  doing  it  on  your  own  • Geographical  posi3oning:  Black  Diamond,  Nanton,  Okotoks,  Turner  Valley  and  Calgary  

• Hargroup  Consultants  have  completed  a  telephone  survey  of  800  respodents  within  these  communi3es  

• Results  used  to;  develop  implementa3on  plan  

 • Possible  pilot  regional  service!  

                                 Final Evaluation • A  clear  and  comprehensive  report  on  the  actual  cost  of  running  the  service;  

• What  the  financial  cost  to  the  par3cipa3ng  municipali3es  will  be  to  keep  it  running;  

• Can  it  be  adopted  under  the  new  transit  governance  business  model?  

                           Pilot Projects: WHY? CRP  Mandate:    “We  implement  the  regional  scale  components  of  the  CMP  through  the    

 collabora3ve  efforts  of  member  municipali3es,  while  suppor3ng  

 each  local  municipality’s  capacity,  autonomy  and  efforts  to  

 implement  the  CMP  in  their  local  jurisdic3on”  •  Context?  

•  Priori3es:  the  comple3on  of  work  program  •  Pilots  used  to  move  work  plans  forward  •  Test  strategy    •  Lessen  risk  •  Move  from  planning  to  implementa3on  

                 Guidelines for partnering •  Is  this  work  opportunity  aligned  to  CMP  and  CRP  mandate?  •  How  is  it  aligned  to  CRP’s  current  business  and  implementa3on  plan?  •  Is  a  larger  CRP  project  dependent  on  this  work  being  completed  soon?  •  Is  this  an  urgent  project  for  the  member  municipality?    • What  staff  capacity/exper3se  does  the  municipality  have  to  do  the  work?  

•  Is  this  a  situa3on  in  which  CRP  has  greater  exper3se  than  local  staff?  •  Does  this  provide  a  “pilot”  opportunity  for  a  larger  CMP/CRP  project  that  benefits  mul3ple  Members  of  the  CRP?  

•  Can  we  connect  this  municipality  to  other  municipali3es  with  exper3se/experience?  

 

Guidelines for Partnering • How  much  3me,  effort  and  cost  will  the  request  take  to  complete?  

•  Does  the  CRP  have  the  ability  to  fund  this  project,  or  to  apply  for  grants  with  the  municipality?  

 •  Final  result  of  any  pilot:  to  help  implement  CRP  work  programs  and  plans  as  they  relate  to  CMP
