Being active does not mean that it has to be organized.◦ Walking around the block◦ Playing in the park◦ Dancing
Make physical activity apart of your everyday routine.
10 to 30 minutes of active living a day is all it takes
Nice to Know
Juggling Balloons Dance Instruction: While playing music have each child
show his/her dance moves. If child decides they do not want to dance have them do 20 jumping jacks or toe touches instead. Go around the room until each child has had a turn.
Counting Activity: Have students stand behind chair. Counting to 20, start by counting by ones have students do jumping jacks. Then count by twos doing another type of exercise like hopping or touching toes.
Ball Toss: Great for math facts or spelling words. Have students partner up with another student while reviewing math or spelling lesson.
