Volcanic fragments (doalnantly tuffs) with ninor flows and sediments were encountered. Threads and grains of pyrrhotite end pyrite are prominent and occaoional massive oeaaa of these sulphides are found. Samples were assayed for nickel, copper, cobalt, gold, oliver and iron where the existence of euch elements was suspected. Ko signi ficant values were obtained. Seven holes, totalling 487*9 feet (E core), wore drilled on the Brooks Lake group of four claims* Volcanic fragmentalo (especially tuff and lithic breccias) with lestver chert and carbonaceous argillite and ndnor acid flows and greywacke were encountered. E. Metvedt ha* been instructed to file all vork to date, I.e., on additional 741.3 feet of drilling on the Track group (equal to tvo years plua 21*3 days) and AS7*9 foet of drilling on tho Brooke Lake group (equal to three years plua 7*9 days). Copies of all data filed are to be forwarded to Lynn Lake.

The groups will then require the following vork to complete leas ing requirtncnts:

Track Groups

Brooke Lake Group i

(1) Slightly less than tvo years' aasesancnt vork on the Rroup (about 1370 feet of "t* drilling).

(2) Claims surrey, for one year'o work.

Claims surrey, for one year*e work.

On the Track group, all known nineral occurrences have been drilled, li is suggested that geological napping should be done aa a ireana of evaluating the claims and locating suitable locations for further assess ment drilling. Ouch napping could be used to partially fulfill assessment requirements.

Kr. lietvedt has done a fine Job in drilling and storing the core. His assistance in logging the core was much appreciated.

Respectfully submitted,

Alan F. Gregory, P.i:ng., Exploration Geologiot,

Sherritt-Gordon Mines Limited, LYNN LAKE, Man,

Gentlemen: . Atlj'g, }.lr. M t a,.C.

In reply to your letter of April 24th. , vie we forwarding herewith plan of proposed diamond drill holes and trenches on showing worked on at Mile 12, up to date. The claims at the A. C. R. track do not look very promising. There is a small Knob of irm formation at the lake, but we have boen unable to trace it further.

The olatta at Brooks Lake appear to be the most promising. The iron formation is small and badly shattered. There is a band of graphite schist

t on contact on south wall, with a zone of sbMsted rhyolite running parallel.

I sent a rough plun of possible faulting to I)oc Gallie last Fall. If it is lost, the T iron t o office should have a oopy.

toArrangements for rental of diamond drill have been made, but I am waiting from Toronto to confirm this.

The lakes are open now, and most of the snow gone. Rivers and creeks are high, in fact there was flood danger for a while. The Algona Central train from Sault could not operate for two or throe days, owing to washouts on the line.

Trusting this is the information you require.

Yours very truly,

K' Jg|V
