1/24/18 1 Status of CUNY Faculty Publications in Disreputable Journals Since we’ve last met • Three articles were published in the NY Post regarding predatory publishing and conferences at QCC. Naming two faculty members who have participated in this practice. • The NY Times, NY Post, CUNY Presidents, Brookhaven National Labs, the PSC, the Chancellor, and NY Inspector General were all notified of this issue by a group of concerned QCC faculty. • The CUNY Office of Research has conducted an internal analysis of self-reported faculty scholarship data over the past 5 years to understand how prevalant this issue is at CUNY. 2
