Recent and future developments
• Acoustics– Reciprocity calibration system in conformance with IEC 60194-2:
2009• LSP1 & LSP2• Magnitude and phase
– Acquired a commercial reciprocity calibration system to be implemented during 2012
• Vibration– Extended low frequency capability down to 0,4 Hz– Developing a system for measuring transverse sensitivity of
accelerometers in compliance with ISO 16063-31– Designed an air-bearing exciter table. Performance validation to
commence later this year

Recent and future developments
• Ultrasound– Finalising the appointment of an Underwater
Acoustics/Ultrasound metrologist– Re-establish the NMISA underwater Acoustic National Standard– Initiate a project plan to establish Ultrasound Power
measurement standards at the NMISA
