History1932-2012

Wärmebüro was established in 1932 from one of the oldest and most traditional companies of the branch heating, air-conditioning and health technology, Bechem & Post. Products of this company are still today in the heating museum of the company Buderus in Lollar, Germany (special sectional cast-iron boiler for coal firing, German Empire Patent).

1969Mr. Herbert Klaft became owner-manager of the company Wärmebüro.

1974The first Krupp-geothermal heat pump in Germany has been engineered, planned and installed by Wärmebüro Klaft with own installation personnel.

1975One of the first multivalent system heatings in Europe, construction and commissioning(solar and heat pump).

1976Leading in Europe in the range of underfloor heating with plastic pipe;Sale and assembly - installation sites in Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, London etc.

1979Cooperation with Korean partners since 1979. At that time, we implemented (as first compa-ny) PPC pipe for underfloor heating and sanitary systems (home pipe) in Korea. In 1984, Mrs. Yaung-Ae Klaft (Oh) had already translated German Standards (DIN) into the Korean langu-age. They have been adopted in Korea as “KS”.On this basis, from 1984 to 1990 we success-fully produced underfloor heating pipe together with Byucksan in our Korean-German joint venture and installed it in thousands of apart-ments (as complete-system with screed).

Innovating ever since.

Always thinking of how to

simplify, combine and develop

processes of heat generation

and supply.

1988Award of the German gas industry for rational use of natural gas.Project: Planning and installation of a district heating system with CHP plant and condensing boilers for a retirement home.

Presentation of the Award of the GermanGas Industry, from left:Rev. R. Schmidt (house builder)Mr. H. KlaftProf. Dr. Klaus Töpfer (German Minister forenvironment)

1932-95All technical installations – district heating facilities, heat pumps, solar facilities and Com-bined Heat and Power plants – a) have been designed and planned by our own engineering office,b) have been installed by our own installation department and personnel at home and abroad (average 60 assemblers).

1990-95Concentration on our „core business“ Enginee-ring - Energy and Climate Conserving Technolo-gy - Biomass-fired Combined Heat and Power plants. The assembly and installation works are now executed by Klaft partner companies (European leading companies in biomass andenergy technology).

2000Highest award of a contest for energy moderni-zation of buildings, presented by the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Transportation, Urban and Regional Development (project: Wohnstadt Fulda – Kohlhäuser Feld, Fulda).

2004Korea, 1. wood chips fired boiler for flower crop houses in Hwasun; total heat performance: 1000 kW

2004-05Korea, design of greatest biomass heating plant (CHP) in Daegu – superheated steam:430°C - 28 bara; total steam amount 55 t/h, steam turbine: 1300 kWel + standby-boiler: 40t/h;Make: Polytechnik, start-up 2006 by Polytech-nik

2009Start of the program „BioKraft & Wärme“,a program developed by us for the rural area. Goal: climate neutral living, working andproducing.- Cut in half the heating costs by electricity and heat from natural biomass.- Adding value for the region - explicit increase of purchasing power for the citizens. Our attempt to counter the demographic chan-ge, emigration und vacancies, decay of real estates, built during the last centuries.

Klaft Korea is a daughter company of the Wärmebüro Klaft GmbH, Germany.

The owner, Mr. H. Klaft is acting in Korea since over 30 years now and the time is right to be present with an own company serving the korean and asian market.

Local staff and partners provide reliable service at any time.See the organisational chart how Klaft Korea is working:

Efficiency

We bundle our know-how with the know-how of our partners in Europe and Asia.In two important areas for the climate conservation:

1 Production of power / heat / cold with bio-fuels.2 ŋ = Increase of efficiency of existing and new combustion facilities independent from fuel: a Retrofitting of saturated steam heating plants and installation of Low-Pressure Combined Backpressu re-Condensing Steam Turbines with heating condenser (LP-CBC-turbines) for power production. b Worldwide new: H.T.C.-Technology (High Temp. Condensing Technology); increase of efficiency approx. 9 - 20 %.

Efficiency is the most important value besides the choice of fuel and the surrounding applicati-on when it comes to energy generation. It has a huge effect on investment and consumption of materials and power.

It is not without cause, efficiency is regulated more and more by laws. All ressources should be treated smart and sunstainably.

We made it our personal task to develop semi-nal technologies all over the years now.One of them is the High-Temperature Conden-sation (HTC) heat utilization, using all reserves of heat in the system to a maximum.

The H.T.C. Technology is being used (a. o.) in following areas of application:

- Lignite coal fired power plant withdistrict heating:Absorption flue gas desulfurization and recovery of process water(facility: Lippendorf near Leipzig)

- Gas fired power plant with district heating:Flue gas drying and heat recovery(reference plant: Berlin-Buch)

- Gas fired CHP plant:Efficiency increase of motor-driven CHP plants (reference plant: German physical education college Cologne)

- Coal conditioning: heat recovery from exhaust vapors and recovery of process water(facility: power plant „Schwarze Pumpe“ near Dresden)

High Temperature Condensation

The following diagram explains the principleof the HTC process.Flue gas from the boiler (or collected from seve-ral boilers) is scrubbed in the absorber.

Recovered heat is used for district heating for example. The distilled water can bereused also. The lowered water content in the flue gas prevents corrosion and visible clouds.

Renewable

Find an example plant below, as recentlyinstalled in Germany. The target is to supply heat and even electricity self-sufficient in small scale regions,

Combined heat and power (CHP) is the most efficient solution and is supported by communi-ties and countries as future technology.

Renewable Energy, as we treat it, concerns solid bio fuel or residues from any processes.

Combustion including fuel logistics and the whole heat treatment and distribution can be covered by our expertise. Here it is important to use local resources, pro-duction waste or sustainable plants.
