STARBUCK IB, K-8 Campus New Home of Jefferson and West Ridge Students Three-Pronged Approach for Improving Student Achievement Our long-range plan uses a three-pronged approach for improving student achievement: • Strong Academics • Resources Aligned to our Vision • Excellent Learning Environments If passed, the referendum would provide the funding needed to make the following improvements at Starbuck: SAFETY & SECURITY: • Update for ADA-compliant access • Replace fire alarm, clock and PA systems • Install security cameras and emergency backup generator K-8 LEARNING SPACES: • Create new Elementary STEM and Middle School Tech Ed Labs, Art Room • Create breakout spaces and student support areas • Add/expand Kindergarten classrooms • Repurpose current gymnasium for Elementary School cafeteria NEW ADDITIONS: • Build two-story classroom addition with Library, Band and Music space • Construct new gymnasium, Middle School cafeteria and kitchen/receiving • Add outdoor classroom and Elementary playground INFRASTRUCTURE: • Refresh building interiors (LED lighting, flooring, ceilings, casework, paint walls) • Address building maintenance (doors, HVAC updates, plumbing, roofing, exterior masonry and retro-commissioning)
